Having thought long and hard.....its got to be yes.
With winning such a big event there is more chance that the better players we have could be persuaded to hang around until the Jan window to see how we did. We would probably get more cash for those that went. We would be able to attract players to get us up first time.
But at the end of the day any silverware for a club with the stature of Bolton is a massive achievement. Over the next 25 years it is highly likely that the Premiership will only be contested by 2-3 of the big four every year with Citeh having an outside chance, that leaves the two cups. Again in reality only one of the big 4 plus citeh, villa, spuds and everton can be seen as upsetting the applecart. It would therefore live long in the memory.
Well worth it.
Would You

Finance
Last accounts showed us £64 million in debt.
That debt has to be managed.
Premiership income next season - £40 millionish
Championship income next season (including parachute payment – £13 millionish.
Conclusion - Administration (and 10 point deduction) is a realistic outcome of relegation.
Chances of Players staying with the club –
I believe only 10 or 11 of the last 33 relegated teams have been promoted again at the first attempt.
Look at Boro – who have Gibsons backing, Strachan as manager (now) - and had to sell / release all their big wage earners. They are currently outside the Championship play off positions.
Players contracts usually have clauses in them that reduces a players salary if the club gets relegated – at the end of the day the players loyalty is to their pay packet and not the club.
If we did go into Administration we would also start the season on minus ten points.
I think I’m right in saying that no club which has had a points deduction has gone on to get promoted.
Conclusion – Players will be sold to reduce the clubs debt and to get their high wages off the pay bill. Statistically the odds would be against us to be promoted back in our first season.
FA Cup – is it really a trophy worth winning anymore?
Yes the clubs name goes in the record books – but in recent years many top clubs play weakened teams in the tournament – Arsenal basically puts out its youth team!
Manchester United didn’t even bother entering one year!

The cup would give us entry into Europe – but all English teams (possibly excluding Boro) have put out reserve teams – O’Neil at Villa famously bought all travelling fans to one of their away European games a meal to apologise for putting out a weakened team. –

Unless the club gets to the semi-final stage of the competition, it will actually cost the club money to be in Europe!
Conclusion – the FA Cup is no longer the tournament it once was – with Champions League issues and Premiership survival taking precedence for a number of clubs each season now – and the entry into the European UEFA Cup seen very much as a second class tournament compared with the Champions League.
Overall Conclusion – I would not wish to see the future of BWFC put into jeopardy for potentially a decade or more just to win a cup that as been devalued in recent years so as to go on a pub crawl around Europe for half a dozen games or so.
Remember that the fans didn’t bother to turn up for our home UEFA games, in the two seasons we qualified – despite significant ticket price reductions!
I rather have a struggling Premiership club than a club gone bust heading quickly down the league – I’ve seen us sink like a stone before – I don’t want to do it again just for the sake of a few drunken nights abroad – (I can go on holiday to do that anytime I want!).
