  1. So much idiocy in one post. Congratulations.

  2. The problem with this Grenfell thing is that it was put on social media. Back in the day when some major story hit the news we got hit with all the sick jokes that followed the event. The gas platform disaster in the north sea is a classic example. What's got 4 legs and goes woof? Piper Alpha. Sick jokes like that went around every workplace in the country. It was a sick world then, it's still a sick world now. Nowts changed. The problem is that now, with social media, more people can and want to be outraged. Scum and cretins will always exist. It's just the fooking stupid ones who get the publicity.

  3. November 1976 League Cup replay against Swansea on a midweek night Absolutely fucking pissed it down One of those games I remember like it was yesterday. Front of the Burnden Paddock. Soaked to the skin. School night. No idea why my dad would take me to the game but fair do's he did 5-1 Steve Taylor double and my mum went mental when we got back as I was dripping wet - remember my parka weighing a ton it soaked up so much water 42 years later and a similar weather forecast..............but I'm out, at a birthday do in Manc....my dear old Dad would spin in his grave at my choice.....

  8. And if they bring 3,500 at £35 then it’s fully justified pricing given they’d have to bring 5,000+ to make up for any reduction in price. As it is, we’ll be charging £30 for lower tier which coincidentally is exactly the same as we’re being charged when we go there. I know we go through this every few weeks and we’d all love cheaper tickets but as long as the club keeps looking after season ticket holders then I’m quite happy for them to milk the away fans, especially in cases like this one where there will be a massive police bill.

  9. This. 100% this. And the USA is starting to follow in those well-worn (and proven to be terrible) footsteps. That's why Trump won the presidency in the first place - people noticing this pattern, or the direction the country was heading, and making a stand.

  11. Yeah absolutely - but I reckon with a decent free education system and good healthcare - backed up with social resources for the people who inevitably fall through the cracks - there will be less workshy wasters on pimlott road. And the ones who were genuinely were just wasters wouldn't have anybody but themselves to blame. I don't think there's any reason why a human being should be starving on planet earth in 2018. And I think that anybody working 37.5 hours a week in any job - should be able to have enough money to save to buy their own home, however modest and have enough left over for food and a bit to blow on having fun. That's as a minimum really - and we'll within our grasp if we were really serious about it.

  12. It's a case of Ken having to weigh up the added numbers 25 quid would bring against the cost of extra coppers and security that a local Derby brings. Without the premier leagues mega bucks TV deal the extra cost falls on the supporters.

  16. I agree with all of what you've written there Crawley. And it was eloquently put. Politically we seem to have descended to the point where politics is less about wanting to build a future that's fair an sustainable - to a situation where a lot of people just vote to annoy people they dislike. Bolty alluded to it earlier - something along the lines of he doesn't even necessarily like or agree with Trump - he just likes seeing people he dislikes being annoyed. To quote python 'that's no basis for a system of government' - the polarisation left unchecked might be the end of Western liberal democracy. I know this is a forum - but just look at the way people talk to each other on here. It's insane really. And I've been guilty of it myself on here too. There's something about the human psyche that seems to value the little dopamine release from feeling like you've won a petty squabble over and above the future direction on humanity. Anyway - that's my take on it you set of utter cunts!

  18. Actually, Bolty points out a truism here. I'm not sure there are that many 'fans' of Trump. Sure, there are some angry, old men who will always be angry old men. Those folks don't get people voted into positions of power normally. I don't even call this populism, and for this the moderates have to take a lion's share of the blame. When you choose to ignore, belittle or just even refuse to acknowledge anyone's views and then couple this with the worse economic crisis in living memory you throw people into the arms of these self serving demagogues, which actually don't really belong to any political affiliation (which is why supporters can bat off the far right accusations willingly) Trump, Robinson, Farage, Johnson - not one of them really aligns on the political spectrum but they are all grouped in a similar movement. The one thing that does bind them together is that they are all arch opportunists who will exploit any vacuum that is there, from genuine concerns about immigration, regional job creation, affordability of houses, financial security and turn this to appeal to the easiest to understand common denominators, let the moderates and the left howl in disbelief and watch their numbers raise. As I've said before the reaction of many of my work colleagues in London to the Brexit vote massively annoyed me, not because I disagreed with them wanting to remain, but their disbelief it could happen showed how much they existed in a cosseted reality that many are not lucky enough to have. That isn't to say that the way to solve this was throwing ourselves on a political sword, but its understandable why people voted to leave, voted to 'make America great again' or find sympathy with Robinson despite the rhetoric. Its frustrating, especially with many of the more ardent supporters of whatever this movement create their own little feedback loop and anything that doesn't fit is FAKE or LIES. At its worse it corrupts actual debate and forces discussions into circular arguments where there can only be WINNERS or LOSERS. Then push this into social media (which has to now take its responsibilities seriously) and you're left with what we have. I'm not sure there are old notions of left and right anymore, but collectively we have force ourselves as a nation to come to understanding or else we won't succeed or progress, and that's something none of us want.

  25. Waffle waffle waffle you are brAin washed by bullshit and not common sense. Somalians, Russians, Turks, whoever the fuck it is of those 3 I’m not sure why we continue to import these problems as we as having to deal with our own indigenous scum bags, the fact is the high proportion of stabbings in London are coming from non indigenous criminals I’m suggesting that it might be a good idea to stop immigration on unprecedented levels from countries that have no connection with our culture. I’m not suggesting folk from these countries should be completely barred however I’d be happy to take skilled and educated folk from these nations who have the skills we require and that want to earn the right to live and work here.
