  4. A bit morbid maybe but my last remaining auntie is on an end of life care pathway so will be attending her funeral shortly Made me think what I'd want at my funeral. Would be........ The Air That I Breathe (The Hollies) - as per the 78 promotion thread - memories of walking on to Burnden in 72/73 - one of the first singles that I ever bought - would be playing as everyone walks in Abide With Me - not religious and hate hymns but fuck me that sends a shiver up my spine - was my Dad's only hymn at his funeral - he tried to describe to me once what it was like hearing that at the 53 and 58 FA Cup finals - 100,000 belting it out - would be the hymn during the service White Man In Hammersmith Palais (The Clash) - as the song of reflection for people to remember me by as my favourite song ever You're Wondering Now (The Specials) - as an end to the service Based the above on my ex Father-In-Law's funeral where it was 4 songs/hymns that had to be chosen

  11. Grossly unfair IMO. The lad absolutely ripped league 1 for two seasons in an average side. Definitely capable of championship football but not at our by-pass midfield set up.

  13. I think some deal will materialise. It will have to, as Britain has never previously existed outside the EU, and will doubtless crumble to a broken wasteland.

  14. He obviously just wants to give two kids a run out and is not interested in progressing One up top again so its going to be easy for them at the back and one way traffic until they go a goal or two up PP really pisses me off

  16. Can’t remember that game but the desire to close down, run off the ball and attacking intent is way way ahead of where we are today.

  17. When you generally see old highlights, you can see how football has usually moved on but we're so backwards now compared to that team. Their movement, Johansen, Thompson, McGinlay even Pollock was way above our present lot who are told to just lump it forwards & fight for the scraps...

  28. TM’s deal will pass in Parliament when the EU remove the unilateral triple lock, the ERG and the DUP will muster enough votes to get the deal through. The EU will not move till the last minute when it looks like ‘no deal’ it’s who blinks first, we need to hold our nerve, a deal will be agreed The EU will hang on a bit to see if the Undemocratic snowflakes in Parliament Greive, Cooper, Soubry and the rest of the shits can cause some turbulence next week

  29. It was always going to be facing a cliff edge, but we are leaving. If the date is pushed back to 28th June we will still face a cliff edge, but with 3 extra months of hysteria. To delay even further means that we will only be represented at the EU parliament by 2 members for Northern Ireland, at least one of whom will be SF. Even if we delay to 20th December we will still face a cliff edge, and with a bigger disruption on investment funds.

  30. Keep your head down Mick, Your fucking idiot of a hero "Oooh Jeremy Corbyn" has been championing Maduro and his predecessors Venezuela as a shining light and the way to go for 'fair socialist democracies' for a long time now Anyone who considers voting for that imbecile deserves 10,000,000% inflation. Still, you could have a lovely chat in the bread queues with your wheelbarrow full of banknotes. I am still amazed that no one has taken Corbyn to task on this yet. Hopefully some fucker will. I want to see the cunt squirm. Get the Conservatives in and make the most of some of the largest oil reserves in the world. I can already hear the reds whining about the 5% 'left behind' under this system due to 'unfortunate circumstances' (read 'workshy', 'stupid' for at least half of that 5%) but the other 95% will have a much improved lot and will certainly not have to contemplate toilet paper being more valuable than the local currency.
