  1. Sorry but there shouldn't be a need to call to arms. It has to be said... The cunts who use any excuse they can find to not go can fuck right off - they are the main cause of the problem. If 18-20K were turning up regularly and supporting the club with turnstile cash then the poor fuckers that haven't been paid on time may well have been. Cunts to a man.

  3. I’ve worked for a guy like Ken and I’ve been in distressed businesses. Given what he bought and the circumstances he bought it he gets my respect. I genuinely hope we can move on to purely footballing concerns now and build our reputation back to where it was and get some pride back in that majestic white shirt

  4. I don’t believe that for a second but I do believe he’s sat there and thought, fuck ya. In anger, frustration whatever it may be. I also firmly believe the new mob have told him to get his house in order before anything is completed so he has begrudgingly done it

  10. Of course it was neccesary. Hundreds of staff haven't been paid for a week, the police/Heathcotes both released statements saying they were owed substantial money, DD from fans weren't taken, Bolton Council threatened to pull Saturday's game. There was no firm response from the club as to when any of this would be sorted, with the only word to the media being that Ken was watching the Steel City derby with pals. That's all... news. What should they have been reporting instead?

  12. Listening to some old Bernard Manning stuff on YouTube in the office yesterday. He had quite a few gags for Scargill. Calling a miners strike on the hottest summer in years. Scargill went to see doctor about being circumcised. Doctor said to his nurse, "we can't operate, there's no end to this prick".

  13. Could that anger be because Eddies Trustees have stepped in and have decided to sideline him and have taken over negotiations with prospective buyers ? Nixon commented this morning "Ownership battle taking some interesting twists . More than one way to skin a cat "

  14. Really really poor to misquote people in this day and age when you can cut and paste their actual words. "but it is difficult to accept putting a further £1m into a club that does not want you there and worse still it is not safe to even go to the club." If you want to argue about it, and clearly you do, at least have the decency to be accurate. Piss poor.

  16. On this thing we can agree. He's effectively written "can anybody blame me for not paying my employees when some people have said nasty things about me in the media"... I mean its bonkers.

  17. Fucking hell, he is a fucking nut job. I cannot believe virtually anything he spouts, half truths, mistruths, punctuated with the odd point I agree with and takes pop at everyone who has ever challenged him, sooner he has fucked off the better.

  25. Obviously a bygone era, but the sports journalist Frank Booth had it right when he was sports journo at the Bolton Evening News back in the 60’s/70’s. He always had the best interests of the club and town at heart, he didn’t usually speculate, he reported facts. He personally knew most of the players and managers from that time - they respected him and he respected them. Last of the old school sports journalists.

  26. Got a mate who does this, not an issue, as Sweep says it’s a minority; if folk like Bolty want to wind themselves up into a downfall of society lather, I’d say it’s more a reflection on them than anything else.

  32. This is turning into one of the longest 3 weeks of my life. Just want something to get settled. Yes I was vocal in my support of Ken , and yes he did take over a bloody financial disaster. But I was wrong ,this is a slow destruction of my club, the club that gets me through the shit that life throws at you. None of us , the staff and players deserve this !!!!!

  33. Been trying to be positive at our house and hope things work out in the end but last night my lad who is almost 17 said "so second worst scenario is we end up watching a club called Bolton Town or summat and worst is that I have to pack in watching football", deffo gave me pause for thought. When finally KA, his son, and PP do leave (I've more sympathy for PP than a lot have) then it would be good to think Iles and Bonnar might fuck off as well but the amount of people sucking them off on social media makes me think otherwise. They could have come out of this looking brilliant but I'd piss on neither if I saw them on fire. This whole thing has been a bit of an eye opener in a lot of ways, this place has actually been more balanced on both sides than pretty much anywhere else and it's also shown up other folk in different lights altogether. From a distance people like Firth and Shortland and others in that circle have showed their true colours and me along with others have probably ended up at odds with some they've known for years. I know someone who has worked in football professionally all his life, who is BWFC through and through and whose opinion is as solid as it gets but turned out even he is friends with Firth et al and I'm having trouble processing it all. Any road let's hope we're still here next week, I need to go to and have a smoke and a sleep with it being a Tuesday night and it being bad enough staff not getting paid without me not getting paid for being pissed and ducking tomorrow.

  35. http://twohundredpercent.net/is-this-how-bolton-wanderers-die/ Good article. Last paragraph below... 'So, is this how Bolton Wanderers die? A founder member of the Football League? A Premier League member as recently as seven years ago? The club of Nat Lofthouse, Eddie Hopkinson andFrank Worthington? It’s difficult to avoid the feeling that the whole of professional football – every governing body that allowed this to build up unchecked, every player, manager and agent who put taking money before anything else, everybody – should be hanging their heads in shame at what has happened to this club, but they won’t. They never do. Should the worst come to the worst, there’ll be the usual trite statements of regret for what has happened before everybody shrugs their shoulders, whispers “that’s business” under their breath and carries on as though nothing has happened. That this should be happening to a club of Bolton’s standing should be one of English football’s greatest shames, but it won’t be, and that’s no small part of the reason why the likes of Ken Anderson end up as emboldened to treat one of the Football League’s great institutions in such a way as they do. It’s the mantra of the modern world, and it’s the mantra of modern football. If you can’t make a buck from it, it’s not worth a penny.'
