  1. Yet again we don’t score. We’ve scored 29 goals all season (4 of which were in the 1st 2 games), that means we need over a game and a half to score 1 goal. There are only Huddersfield with 20, Cardiff with 30 (both 9 less games) and Ipswich with 33 that are anywhere near as low out of 92 league teams. You’re not telling me that we’re the only team out of the whole 4 leagues that have what we consider to be poor players, or have had off the field issues, or play teams that have spent more money than us? His approach to football is not only negative and one-dimensional but most of all every game is played with a defeated attitude. His excuses are already lined up for him, and his players, before they step on to the pitch, we know he is up against it but if he had anything about him then he would find a way around it, it’s not impossible. Instead you can write the script for the next game because it’s exactly the same as all the previous ones, nothing changes, there’s nothing new. Maybe he has just been worn down and hasn’t got the energy anymore but whatever the reason it’s got to be the end of the road for him. I know he has had success in the league below but the whole club needs a clean slate, an injection of energy and most of all to be rid of this defeatist attitude. Ta for the promotion, keeping us up (just) and being civil whilst it all went to shit off the field this year but the club has to try something different.

  3. No Blackburn here, if there was therd be shit to play. Currently on the front in Gibraltar teaching the locals all our songs because thems the rules and thats what we do. We love our club, and the locals are hearing all our songs, even "We all live in a Breightmet Council House" because thats how we roll

  6. It was obvious what was going to happen the minute that team sheet was announced. Once again, Parkinson insists on playing loanees and players who won't be with us next season rather than any fringe players he's completely excluded, or any further young lads. Many of that team today won't be with us next season. He's stubborn. He can't adapt. He won't change a failing formula. This, in front of Bassini today was his audition; his opportunity to show he can unite fans and players to kick on next season. He failed, miserably. There is no way he's in a job come the end of this week. Times up. Thank god for that.

  7. I still have a 'video' (ask your parents kids), on my phone, filmed from The Big Match. I keep telling myself as he runs towards the Burnden Paddock I can see my 19 year old self jumping with joy. (Although I never went in the BP in those days.)

  10. Absolutely no one is asking for total football. just something, absolutely anything that resembles a plan. booting it to a forward who can’t win a header with no one in 20 yards of him isn’t a plan. It’s absolute shit. we know we have below average players for this league but to roll over and allow other shit teams to play us off the park is unforgivable. It’s the same when they were paid and when they weren’t. In fact we played better sometimes when we haven’t been paid.

  11. We had managers who wanted to play football. And we were shit. Having a footballing philosophy is pointless if you don’t have the quality to play football and win. Playing football and losing is utterly miserable as we’ve found out many times. Our most successful period in modern history was borne out of pragmatism blended with real quality. I think we should be looking to get back to that. But it won’t happen overnight. If at all. We need to realise it’s a grind now.

  28. A thread from the B/burn forum where lots of them remember the kickings they got & how scared they were at Burnden, the takeover on promotion night, though not so much about how the games in B/burn were a walkover for us. Happy days https://www.brfcs.com/mb/index.php?/forums/topic/33826-bolton-at-home/

  36. Evidence for this, and the reasons behind it? Gaspard - Had the backing of a couple of reasonable posters on here who had knowledge of the bid, and had a number of Bolton fans involved in the deal. Why would that have been better than Bassini? Well none of those said to be involved... - Had previously been banned from involvement in a football club having been found guilty of dishonesty and misconduct - Had been in charge of a football club where they put seemingly little to no money in and instead took on loans secured against future transfer fees and league payments - Have been accused of borrowing money in the name of a club, which never made it into the club - Have a clear pattern of behaviour marking them out as a complete fantastist There are wolves in sheeps clothing (which any new owner could be) and then a wolf in wolf clothing, turning up at the gate with mint sauce and being welcomed in under the misguided belief that the only possible option is to hope that he isn't what he very, very obviously is.
