  1. I've been lucky enough in my life to travel round parts of the World, experience different places, cultures & civilisations, seen some amazing sights & had some life changing adventures. But nothing, NOTHING! ever comes close to the Euphoria, the pure joy of the terraces with the White Army, cracking day out with cracking people again. To think we came so close to never having it again. BTID COYFWM

  3. Madine in, scores a few. We sign him on the cheap when allowed to, then flog him after he scores 20 odd in a season. For 6 million. Sorted.

  4. Deserves its own thread surely... Really happy with this. Only sentiment wanted Nolan but this makes perfect sense. Let’s get behind the bloke 🙌🏻🙌🏻

  10. It's a free hit this year. Nobody particularly expecting survival. Perfect environment to build for next season.

  13. As long as he has a system and we can at least see what he is trying to do then that will do me for starters. I realise Parky was hampered by having sub championship players for that league but a team that looks like they practice stuff in training, can pass the ball, give 100% and have more in our armoury than the hoof up from the back something less medieval than weve been used to. Is that asking too much? .

  14. Cracking day out, plenty of ale an apparently a football match broke out. Poor performance again but that’s the last free hit they get, it has to improve now and it will do. 10 new signings at least are needed. Sharon had a dream, to own a football team. She had no money so got a drummer for free. Mason at the back, pink floyd in attack. We’re Bolton Wanderers, We’re on our way back

  15. Based solely on yesterdays performances I would agree with all that. Big clap for all the lads who have kept us going though until the recruits arrive. We need patience with the players coming in though because its the start of the pre-season for a few weeks and I cant see us being totally competitive until October. There will be enough games to claw the points back but it looks like a season in League 2

  16. Infamous press conference at Leicester where Pearson called a journalist an ostrich. Was quite high profile news at the time. Your talk of people burying heads in the sand and your generalised hostility towards football journalists led me to think you may feel a sense of kinship towards him. To be honest Chris it's disappointing having to explain the reference, since anyone with a rudimentary awareness of the football zeitgeist in recent times wouldn' t have required such basic guidance.

  19. Lived in Rochdale for yonks and saw a lot of Dale over the years, especially in that spell that led to first promotion from L2, as has been said, never had any money but oversaw great work in the academy with abysmal facilities and brought through some really good young players. Also spotted and developed a string of players who ended up being golden nuggets financially and going on to do well at higher level, Rickie Lambert, Grant Holt, Scott Hogan a few examples. Dale played some brilliant football then and in the more recent seasons when they went back up and held their own massively against the odds. Can be a bit prickly when he gets a bit of stick. Sat in main stand once at Spotland and his ongoing dialogue with a couple of moaners in block behind dugout was more entertaining than the game. As a pair though, him and Flitcroft know what they are doing, will relish the chance they're being given and, with our quality academy / development coaches supporting them, could do well for us if everyone is patient, especially through the rest of this season. Good luck to them, I hope it works out for them and us

  20. Embarrassing isn’t it? Hill proven at level we are at. Nolan isn’t. I’d have either.

  26. Maybe a honorary mention for Phil Neal?, he did help rebuild the team, brought some good players in and got us out the 4th division.
