Right end of week NHS update. We're now basically on a war footing. Amazing how such a big organisation has managed to mobilise so quickly. Focus has immediately turned to CV in place of non urgent care. People from all quarters volunteering to help where they can - including non clinicians being trained up to perform some safe clinical procedures (like blood pressure for example), to free up staff with other skills to use them more effectively. Amazing to see it all come together. Just hoping we can cope with demand from the critically ill as things progress.8 likes

It will pan out the same way most previous Pandemic flu’s panned out, millions dead globally maybe 1m, maybe 5m or potentially 50m look around, businesses are close to collapse all over the place, finishing a football season is so low down the list of important things right now1 like

I always envisaged that if the world came to this point, the bad news would be delivered by a polished, concerned and empathetic President, with real gravitas and some hope. I honestly never thought we’d be told the apocalypse was coming in a comedy voice, by 6 foot odd of Angel Delight piped into a suit and dusted off with badly combed shredded wheat. Its not fair.1 like

Why is everyone else’s better than ours? We always boast about how good our medical professionals are Yet now they’re doing what they’re paid to do people with no experience are doubting them.1 like

They're not though You need to understand just how much of a cult his followers are. They will soak up all his shit like sponges, simply because they want to piss his detractors off. They don't give a fuck about policies and they certainly don't read anything about them. If he Tweets that he'll make them rich and they can have big shiny guns, he's done his job. It'll be the same with the virus. He'll blame it on everyone from the WHO to the cast of Sesame Street and they'll just clap their hands and put their MAGA caps on.1 like

He’s been banging on about how the Stock market has been doing on his watch Well, it’s completely collapsed today, back to where it was in 2017, be lower than when he took over soon Not that I blame a stock market collapse on him, but then again I didn’t think he had much at all to do with the boom1 like

BJ didn’t look relaxed to me, he looked genuinely worried and concerned and was very measured in his approach to a big problem that is beyond control A lot of people are going to die during this world crisis, some of them will be close relatives of people on this forum, cheap shots at people who are trying to deal with this disaster is not the way forward1 like

I was a bit worried when I turned areas of her lawn black! I'm having to bide my time until my mum goes away for Easter, until I do the same to her's. She doesn't want it done, but I'm buggered if I'm cutting moss all summer.1 like
