  4. Genuinely curious as to why anyone would be against wearing a face covering in a supermarket. Are there any reasons why someone wouldnโ€™t want to?

  10. See, I don't think there's anything wrong with it being selective. My previous example shows how different people have different reasons for going out in public. If I go to a pub I know the risks and I'm taking my chances. My mum, on the other hand, isn't willing to take the risk of going into a pub so her only trips out are to the supermarket to do her shopping every week or so. She just wants to get what she needs and then get out again. I don't thinks it's unreasonable for her to want to do that as safely as possible and if the introduction of compulsory mask wearing is brought in to make her and plenty of others be as safe as possible then I'd happily adhere to those rules. It doesn't have to be an all in or all out ruling.

  11. If you are going to a pub you are putting yourself at risk of infection and it's your choice. On the other hand if you are going to a supermarket to shop for necessities and that's it, then why should you not be as safe and at as little risk as possible?

  17. same here, I've been in once in 5 years, to play crazy golf. One son used to play futsal every week or so at the soccer dome round the corner until it recently shut, never ventured over to the hell hole once. I went with the mrs ages ago, she tried on that many clothes in that many shops, by the time she'd finished she'd forgotten which shop the stuff she liked best was in. Never again.

  18. The fashionable skin cuts on girls in that period looked dead sexy. Alas, glam rock came along and Hot Pants and the whole scene was history.

  20. Just a tad before my time unfortunately, but the influences were filtering through to us kids at the time. I had the Tucson red Doc Martens, the two tone kex, the crombie, the Ben Sherman shirt etc etc. Just didn't have the skinhead haircut - we left that to the professionals We were in awe of the proper skins in the Lever End. No one took the piss at Burnden in those days. Happy days.

  24. I'm aware of where he's coming tomorrow. However I don't need educating as to how I act. When I go to the football, it's to watch and be entertained. The colour of the players is immaterial. Similar if I go into a shop, the doctor, whatever. No doubt they have both had bad experiences, but, just as some of the blm movement don't represent all the black community, a number of racists don't represent all white or other communities. MH talked about teaching kids about history relating to black and white people- I'll go along with that whole heartedly, so long as it's a complete, no holds barred approach, which highlights the horrors of the slave trade and it's perpetrators, whether they were white, black, Arab or whatever.

  25. The club's been lost far up shit creek, So long with paddles none, It seemed like for a Wanderer, Perhaps our time had gone, Keith Hill tried his best it's true, But fans had come to feel, The football wasn't up to scratch, His comments too surreal, Now once more a new dawn has come, A new man at the helm, With order to bring back the gloss, Of the Whites Northern realm, On him it seems our hopes depend, Of a team strong and stable, Will he succeed the question then, Is Ian Evatt Able?
