  1. I was stood with him and we were discussing the merits of the 3 lads across the back, very strong in the air and more than competent on the floor, worked well for each other, they will take some beating this coming season. For me Politic was the best player on the park, wearing the armband he led by example, non stop working and encouraging everyone around him, seems to me a natural leader. Colls played their part and were unlucky/poor finishing/hit the bar and could have scored a couple, a decent game played in the right spirit. We were gutted to have to play a potential money spinner behind closed doors but that is what was asked of us so we complied, BWFC have hinted at another game once both of our seasons are underway, it will be a night match and I would imagine feature those on the fringe of the first team, we'll see. From all of us at Colls the very best wishes for BWFC this season (90% of Colls fans are Bolton fans)

  2. I think we should be looking more along the lines of protecting the economy and jobs as the priority Get schools fully open in September no matter what Covid is doing. Allow all businesses to open up again The NHS has had time to build up capacity of beds and ventilators if / when a second spike comes Shield the at risk groups of course, but the majority of people should be allowed to crack on for the sake of the economy I simply don’t think it’s worth carrying on like this for 18 months to 2 years

  3. I know save the NHS was the strapline, but it's not really save the NHS, it's preserving the capacity to help the person who has a surviveable car crash, or a heart attack, or falls off a ladder. Lose that and think of the impact on the economy when a fall becomes a death sentence. If people are dying in corridors or sports halls, do you think the shops and pubs will still be buzzing? If hospital workers succumb to fatigue or illness, who will replace them? Most of the 'let it burn through' crowd changed their tune after Italy and once the antibody tests showed a relatively low number of people had had it. Letting this run through, in wintertime alongside seasonal flu, well that could make what we just went through pale in comparison. They need to find a happy medium. If pubs have to close so schools can open so be it.

  11. My reflections on working with the NHS last week A&E has been a lot quieter for the last few months. The hope is that folk continue not to walk in there when they really don’t need to They have really adapted to technology and are utilising remote consultations. NHS Scotland have really upped the game by developing Attend Anywhere. Oldest is using it for her psychology patients as it’s spread across the rest of the UK Feeling I get is that we will go back to the old ‘Infirmary’ hospitals type of health care ie if you need emergency treatment you will go into an infirmary. If not you will access more local health care Consultations via smart phone and other digital media will massively increase. Folk won’t like it but will get used to it. Routine follow ups in out patients are a thing of the past. Do it via digital media and 90% of those consultations that needed a trip to hospital are done way more efficiently. The 10% that need further investigation get called in Biggest worry is your cancer patients who absolutely have to come in for chemo, and your dialysis patients, for example, but I know of initiatives that are happening to try to mitigate NHS Scotland are using their Nightingale hospital for staff training, reducing the backlog of seeing patients that need to be seen, and preparing for the second wave, which they absolutely believe is on its way, and as they are completely apolitical, and a lot more efficient than NHS England, I will go with them Long and boring post perhaps. But two points I’ll make here. Firstly, the NHS, at all levels, has massively stepped up, way ahead of the government and Joe Public. And, secondly, folk will have to recognise that just because you pay your taxes, you cannot continue to use the NHS the way that you have done. Changes are afoot and we will have to go with it. This pandemic may actually benefit the way that the NHS works and the way that folk treat it. For the better

  16. Had a walk after work around Rivi. Now sat with a glass of white and listening to the cricket in The Rivington overlooking Horrobin Lane. Watching the traffic negotiate the narrow road with cars parked on one side of the road. The council have put yellow lines every so often to allow cars to pull in and allow cars to pass. There is no one controlling the flow but everyone seems to be using common sense and it works. If everyone could use that same common sense with Covid wIthout trying to find loopholes in the advice/regulations, we could get through this.

Just a sop to Barrow and a tbf a re assurance to them he wouldn't dismantle their team Hes had the whole league to look at, talent from lots of teams thats caught his eye FV have a plan and looking good so far. Hopefully other fans who still think we are the same club on and off the field will get a shock sometime soon

  21. Just read about him and it looks like Dagenham fans really rated him and he has a bright future; when he came back from the loan spell he was one of the reasons they stayed up so hopefully he will be good for us

Mrs wanted to drive to Wales last year for a week. the week before the weather forecast changed from sunny to overcast to raining to sunny to overcast, I said Bollocks to driving stuck in traffic with unknown weather. 28. Fuckin hell man, you need to catch up. We didn’t give a fuck about Wigan. They were the ones that manufactured this rivalry. They were the ones that occupied the town hall steps. Disgraced Nat’s statue. And picked off smaller groups of kids when it was in their favour. Fuck off Wigan.
