  1. I think over time he's earned most of that luck. He earned his place in the best car by excelling in lesser ones. He gambled on Mercedes when they weren't the finished article. Today with pole he maybe wasn't as harsh on the tyres as Bottas which meant that he was just that closer to the line when they failed. He earned that position in turn by breaking the track record in qualifying. Finally when the tyre did go he kept the car on the track and ahead of Verstappen. He is an exceptional talent. Not sure if Pirrelli are really at fault, They were all pushing the limits of what that tyre was quoted as good for. Though maybe once the analysis takes in all the safety car laps they'll have a better handle on how to play the race next week. Hope we get a finish halfway as exciting as that one.

  2. No longer presenting on GMR. Sound track to my childhood and beyond that fella. Always liked him, even though he’s city.

  4. You need a rest I thought some of those step counts you've been posting were a weeks' total not a single day! I prefer York too, one of my favourite places.

  5. I'd be prepared to pay for or commit to via direct debit my season ticket up front then attend whenever we're allowed and if something comes up get ifollow access instead or whatever. We're in totally uncharted waters with this kind of thing now and I think clubs are hoping to rely on their fans charity and acceptance that they could end up paying for a product they might not actually fully receive in return. Because I'm an idiot, I would pay for a season ticket and not be massively fussed if I only get to watch about 5 games live and not be allowed into the rest, but it's a huge stretch to expect everyone else to be the same. Last couple of seasons I've started viewing my ST as a means to help keep the club afloat rather than a ticket to watch actual football matches.

  9. Once again no new cases in Blackpool in the last 24 hours. The beaches have been packed for weeks. It’s all a load of bollocks.

  10. If I’m not at the game, which is about 20 away games a season at the moment, I immerse myself in sky sports, 5 live radio and GMR but the last bit only if there’s good coverage of our game...and until we are losing by 2. So for about half an hour usually.

  13. Harrogate Town, Forest Green Rovers, Cheltenham Town, Macclesfield Town, Morecombe and Tranmere Rovers all in the same division as us. Hard to believe but what's worse Wycombe Wanderers 2 divisions higher than us and Fleetwood, Rochdale and Crewe in a higher division

  14. Tickets will be non existent based on Covid alone. for certain it’s likely that away supporters will be a no no for most of not all of next season. Harrogate a league fixture. Sometimes it’s fucking frightening when you realise how far we’ve fallen so quickly.

  15. pineapple on pizza is a must. Perfect balance for ham and mushroom. Or for those liking a vegetarian option. Just as it is with gammon, but should be accompanied with an egg. ALL eateries should by law, have to offer both egg AND pineapple as accompaniment to gammon, and not one or the other.

  16. I can confidently say that, having (unfortunately) been on the inside during their finest hours, they always considered their absolute hardcore to be c4,500 when they were first relegated from the Premier League, and I doubt that has changed much. Latics spent YEARS trying to target new fans in Leigh and Atherton but I can confidently report that we would quite comfortably outnumber them probably 10 to 1, if not more. Probably doesn’t scratch the surface compared to armchair City/Utd/Liverpool fans, mind. There was never much intention to target Westhoughton, but they were always very keen on trying to pick up new fans going towards Chorley.

  20. I was outside the ground the day Dean Holdsworth first reported for training - I was working for FITC at the time. He got out of his car wearing one of those backwards Kangol hats like Samuel L Jackson. Before he even got through the front door someone who was passing told him 'You're not going to get away with that hat up here pal' - class 😁

  21. Think it’ll be reduced to 10 days, possibly 7 with a test. I’m going Tuesday for 3 weeks, cases outside of Catalonia, Aragón etc are much lower than U.K. I’m hearing that compliance of masks, social distancing etc is very good in Spain, although you can’t reduce risk to zero I’m not worried and it’s safer being out in the open air than indoors and the Spanish weather means most days I’ll be doing just that.
