I joined Hick Hargreaves in 1976. I had a huge wooden desk and a chair that rocked back with cushioned arms. That’s not important. Sat behind me was Gordon. He had one arm and a piece of metal in his skull that made him slur his words. These were injuries that were inflicted during the war. His job was to go from office to office collecting and delivering mail and memos. He did this with his one arm. Before he joined Hicks, he worked at the Co-Op in town as a lift operator. I liked Gordon. He was also a big Wanderers fan. Wish there were more Gordon’s in this world.2 likes

He doesn’t need a punch line. I’m in tears after a few seconds. Funniest man alive. 👍🏻2 likes

And if we do go up, then next year we’ll have an extra £1m to spend, whereas some of the bigger clubs like Sunderland/Pompey/Ipswich etc. will all still be trying to reduce their wage bill if they haven’t gone up. Starting in L2 with a completely clean slate and building up to the cap, then hopefully going up the leagues to fill the additional cap as you please is a very good place to be in. Far better than already being over and having to try and cut over the next few years to reach the same place. We’ve has a shit few years but I genuinely think that the timing of when we hit rock bottom and pressed reset with the new owners will now suit us perfectly as others hit trouble with COVID issues / salary cap. Here’s to a fun next 5 years and hopefully be looking back in 2025 from a mid-champ position and remembering some fun days out at Barrow and Harrogate.2 likes

With about 3 months of transfers to go, there are going to be some interesting moves in this strangest of years. A few have caught my eye in recent days, a few involving ex BW. Jake Turner, remember him? Gone to Morecambe on loan. Why is he not still here? Joe Riley left Bradford to replace our new right back at Carlisle. Bridcutt permanent move to Lincoln, he’s better than that. Away from BWFC, Kemar Roofe, ex Leeds, gone to Rangers. Richard Keogh, ex Derby, great signing for MK Dons.1 like

Vettel is finished. He’s lost all heart. Mainly driven by other drivers being proven to now being much better than him. He’s regressed and lots have gone past him. Last year being pushed behind le clerc in terms of strategy just sent his head west and he’s never recovered. I hope I’m wrong but I think he causes a serious serious crash this year by being reckless.1 like

I’m embarrassed for him if he chose Salford over us. Regardless of what they offered. RE Emmanuel the less we have from the old regime the better for me now. Fresh start. Wish him well1 like

Hillary Clinton would have made an excellent President. It's a crying shame that too many bought into the bullshit about her and yet ignored all the alarm bells around Trump, the monumental bell end.1 like

Must admit I’d have loved to see Bridcutt in the centre of this ‘new era’ Bolton team. He was a class above the rest of our team last season and genuinely looked too good for L1 when he was in form. Unfortunately he was surrounded by shit and then ridiculously (and the key decision that showed KH had no idea) played at centre back. I’m sure there’s reasons why we haven’t got him - the main one of which might just be that IE didn’t want him or he didn’t want to come - but he’s one player from our recent past that looked a genuine cut above the rest. I’ll be interested to see how he gets on this season at Lincoln, based on the Twitter comments (I know) they seem to be very happy to have him back!1 like

Aye I’d agree which is a shame because at one stage he was in the top 3 players in the world I don’t think he’ll be that arsed, on £700k a week or something mad, Perez loves him, by all accounts the players don’t1 like
