  1. He's in same category as Evatt right now. Came in and talked the talk. Walking the walk isn't happening yet, so he's under scrutiny. Also his name and his job title aren't doing him any favours. I'll have to give it another 10 games before I judge both Evatt and Phoenix properly because I don't think any of the signings have lived up to expectation yet. I do understand people's concern and frustration with the current situation but I think we'll come good and all these worries will be forgotten quickly. FV have put a lot of new things in place and for me, it's too early to judge the situation rationally right now. This is a long term plan that's got off to a bad start. Can call it blind faith but there's not much influence we can have as fans (especially during pandemic) and I'd rather not be too critical right now. I can't bring myself to be pessimistic and downbeat just yet. Mainly just frustrated at the shit goals we've conceded and the good chances we've missed. We will be reet.

  2. If you want to know how I found his tweet read this paragraph, if you don't, go to the next paragraph, this one is v.boring. You posted a link to his twitter feed. My mobile shortens the feed to a Preview, so to see it all I click on it. If I click on his name, it takes me to the top of his feed, and opens up twitter. The tweet I posted is his 2nd latest one, yours is a few earlier. So no, I didn't go searching, I had to scroll down to find yours and in doing so, read 3 or 4 mote recent tweets. He's posted a picture of 20 folk walking down a tube entrance, which I haven't commented on, but if you want to know, I think its not ideal, but what is the alternative? Let pubs do what they want? Shut all pubs? Stagger closures ( how would that work, and wouldn't it cause just as many counter arguments? "Why are we open and they're closed, its not fair" " why do I have to leave at 9 when he can leave at 10.30, its not fair" OR MAYBE THE FOLK ALL WALKING DOWN THE STEPS AT THE SAME TIME COULD DISTANCE THEMSELVES, OR WAIT, OR GET A CAB, OR LEAVE THE PUB 15 MINS EARLIER.(sorry, not shouting started off in caps in error, can't be arsed changing) If I scroll through his other tweets/ retweets, I can see that about 80% in the last day are: anti lockdown, there is no 2nd wave, anti tests, Sage are bobbins etc. It's plain to see what his viewpoint is and I don't agree with it. Just because he's your mate, it doesn't make his tweets sacred. You pointed us to him, I read his content, I don't agree with it, I posted a tweet and a short comment, just like you did Sorry if you don't like it, it's not personal. Lose your cool with me, and name call again and I'll block. I can't be arsed with falling out or petty name calling on this thread. Waste of time. But if I see something that I don't agree with, I'm going to counter it Jules. Not because I'm a smug cock or I'm trying to character assassinate anyone, and belittle someone's job ( which I didn't do by the way, I bellitled his authority to claim "Sage have no clue") The reason I'm doing it is because I'm very, very worried that loads of folk are going to get seriously ill and all this anti sage, anti lockdown, masks don't work, 10pm doesn't work, why is my area locked down when over there is worse, why do I have to isolate when I can look after myself, social media barrage, gives ammunition to those who think we don't need to do anything, those who think its a hoax. You might not, but loads of folk believe that. I'm not trying to shut you down either I welcome debate , but if I think posts are inaccurate, unhelpful or dangerous I'll keep calling them out. Sorry just a difference of opinion. This huy hss been one of the SAGE members since 2009. If you want to research him, there's videos of him going back years on YouTube. Watch some and let me know if you think he has no clue. Have a read of the SAGE structure and minutes and see if you think they have no clue. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p08sfkbw

  4. Too right; “Compliance with the rules is, in part, enabled by a consistent approach. Inconsistency means unfairness and undermines confidence in the system. Ideally, Bolton needs to be taken out of the extreme lockdown restrictions or a growing chunk of the county needs to be put in them” Chris Green MP

  6. I rarely venture onto this thread for a variety of reasons, so what I'm saying now might have been said before. We need to assume that we've all got it, rather than we might get it. If 2m social distancing & masks combined work, then make mask wearing in any public space (even outdoors) law and let people crack on. If you're vulnerable, make your own choice whether to go out or not. If you claim you can't wear a mask then wear a visor, if you feel you can't wear either, then stay home. After all you're the ones likeliest to suffer. Get everywhere re-opened and crack the fuck on. None of this not before 5am, not after 10pm, not in this postcode, not inthat type of business ambiguity etc etc The've not banned smoking or drinking which kill loads of people. Open everything or shut everything.

  7. Anybody giving up after 3 League games needs to give their head a wobble, or think back to this time last season. If you're writing us off with 43 games to go, I think you need to find a more fulfilling hobby. Maybe you just aren't cut out for lower League football. It's shite.

  9. Just had a look, Newport only played 3 players today who played the last league games in March (lost away to Carlisle which meant they finished 14). They have basically re built, likely with a much smaller budget We can’t hide behind the new players stuff. In league 1 & 2 50% of players contracts expired in June. It’s all short term stuff at this level (for most) For me, no excuses, we’ve been way below where we should be given our budget and the time we have had to prepare

  17. Within the next few weeks, Delaney, Tutte, Sarcevic and the winger (forget his name) will be in replacing Santos, White, Hickman and Comley. That will give us miles more league experience. I wouldn’t be surprised if Sarcevic injury is to get him fitter away from the spotlight - same with Miller and to a lesser extent, Tutte

  26. They are all good, rational and debatable points. However I’m not fully in agreement. You’ve obviously done more research than I have on Newport, so you may hold the higher ground. Ok the starting 11 may have had changes. But a whole squad? A new keeper? A new manager? A manager who hasn’t managed at this level before? A new captain, new training methods, new coaches there’s a lot more you could add to this list. Did Newport not have players/buy in players on bigger wages before the salary cap decisions? Are we really spending more money than our rivals? And if we are, surely it won’t be by much As much as it hurts for us all, at the moment we are on an equal, in fact no, at the moment lower footing than the likes of Newport. Hopefully it won’t last long and we start to turn the tide Surely we’ve bought into this for the long term.

  27. Let’s make this constructive and deal with my concerns only I know the measures mean well but they do induce congregation where it’s less monitored and harder to control, whilst simultaneously fucking a whole industry & more! Social concerns like the old fighting at cab ranks etc like the old days are inevitable for me. I know the landlord of a well known pub in Manc and he’s seriously considering shutting til March. Closing Mon-Weds at the v least. IMO they should have left the opening hours but been more militant on those establishments not sticking to the rules. I’ve been in some that were brilliant and others that were flagrant with it.

  29. He pretty much said what needs to be done , from a very experienced defender himself I hope to see some real improvement soon in that department. The attack in stages looked a lot sharper and I could see green shoots of understanding between the midfield and attack . It's a start.

  30. Fuck me, that's my most hated cover version of all time. When you compare it to the pounding, breathless original that i was dancing to as a kid it just pales into insignificance. The Soft Cell cover was just camp electronic pish imo. Here we go, it takes me back to 1974 and it's Wigan Casino on a sweaty Saturday all nighter with 2000 pilled up teenagers having the best time of their fucking lives. Happy days, if i could have one night of my life back - that's where i'd be. Or maybe Ewood in 1978.

  31. Nice one again. What does he know about SAGE Jules. Post shit on here mate and ill counter it. I'm sure he's a massive expert on starting up succesful recruitment consultantancies but to say no one at SAGE has a clue, is a bit of a bold statement to make. I didn't really assassinate his character did I? I just think he's talking shit about SAGE.

  34. As just a byestander in the Rogerdubious narrative I have to comment that the original post comment was about one of the most memorable days in the history of our great club ie our win at Wrexham Roger the red turns the narrative around to his illustrate his inate hatred for the scousers. This is pathological footprint of many older scum fans who could not deal with the success of the pre-prem Liverpool team. I personally couldn’t care less about the scousers either way apart from they are a mean set of supporters either blue or red. However Roger you need to desist with your tedious red army stories & decide where your loyalty is .If your a red fuck off & if not just admit your a aggro voyeur.

  38. Seriously if I told you of what I've had to put up with last week, you would be shocked. Can't post on a public board. Most saw this coming, kids have had 6 months of "do what you like" bringing them back into set routines and wanting to learn was always going to be an issue. Just seem another post on face ache about a group of kids on levenshulme park. Parents have been fined and the great unwashed are having a pop at the police about it. Huge chunk if the day is spent keeping kids safe, then come night they do what they want, hang out in groups and parents dont give a damn. Middle if a pandemic living in the epicentre... "course you can go and hang out with your mates tarquin".. police have better things to be doing but they're having to spend resources breaking up large groups. All because mums and dads want the easy life rather than confrontation with their kids. Kids shouldn't be out, really simple.
