  1. Looking increasingly likely that we are going to have to close down the business I’ve spent the last 21 years helping to build. Not even the slightest clue what I’ll do if that happens. Does that mean I’m now in favour of giving up on trying to control the virus? Does it fuck. I’d rather give my Mum, Dad and Father in law the best chance of staying alive thanks very much. People talk a lot about the mental health issues this crisis is causing. They are horrible and people clearly need a lot of help. But imagine the long term impact of living in the knowledge that you didn’t do everything you could to protect the vulnerable from the virus.

  2. Agree with that; just replace Baptiste with a goalie so there is no chance for him to get on the pitch

  4. I am almost 62 with underlying health conditions ( I used to run marathons and play football, I was as fit as a butchers dog until 2 years ago) I was sent home from work on 23rd March and deemed as vulnerable, I have worked at home since then. I have been on to the Colls once and the pub 3 times, I take the dog out every morning early when there is hardly anybody about and get a paper on my home (from the garage where no fucker wears a mask except me). I have done everything asked of me to keep myself and others safe but it is getting so frustrating seeing folk flouting the rules, some of us old 'uns respect everybody else, I wish there was some reciprocation. Older folk want a normal life too - not locking away

  7. You've brought that memory back to me. One of the few "long distance" aways I've done. We were losing at half time to Cambridge, 3 days after Tranmere thrashed us in the league cup semi. In the modern age there's no way Sam would have survived that. Thank God for Bob Taylor in the 2nd half, one of my favourite BW strikers of all time who goes a bit under the radar. That Cambridge goal was the only one we conceded in the FA Cup before losing on pens to Villa in the semi.

  8. If it’s about doing everything we can to protect the vulnerable from the virus then we will be restricting what we can do for years to come Even if a Covid vaccine comes next year its likely to be as effective as the Winter Flu one. Which whilst effective still doesn’t stop tens of thousands dying every year in the U.K. ‘Doing everything we can’ to stop this virus will mean years of restrictions, years of damage to the economy, years of austerity and reduced healthcare spending. We will reach a point where the restrictions kill more than they have saved Question is, when do we get to the point where it’s counter productive in terms of excess deaths

  12. why? can u think of another club that has brought in 20 players in a close season and has got instant success? The players we have bought a lot from non league and league 2. truth is we are nothing special on the pitch at the moment. Ok the skill level isnt great in this league but most of these teams have been playing together for a good few years and have not just been thrown together.

  13. I can see why a media blackout regarding a potential vaccine would be a good idea. Imagining people thinking fuck the rules there’s a vaccine next month, and ramping up cases in that month . its hard enough convincing people to behave as it is, if they thought a cure was available soon there’d be no adherence to anything

  17. Yes definitely, and if you target the health workers and the vulnerable first, even more positive effect. I can't see it starting until early 2021, hope I'm wrong, buy that's what I'm reading as the most likely. In the US they want 2 months of monitoring the phase 3 trial before moving to roll out, and the phase 3 trial aint finished yet, so even if it finished tomorrow, that's early Dec, and I'm fairly sure US will get first dibs.

  20. Hickman has been one of the few positives so far this season imo. Not his best game today but his crosses did beat the first man unlike Brockbank's.

  23. Hugely disappointing that. First half we played decent, looked on top. Second half was bereft of any positives. Santos, Hickman, Mascoll, Tutte. All did well and put a shift in. The rest were fucking shite/average. Sarcevic aside from winning a couple of fouls and maybe one or two decent passes, was quiet and uninspiring. Delfounso had a stinker today I thought. Can't remember him doing anything other than slipping over twice. Crawford nice free kicks and corners but other than that, didn't offer much. Brockbank, solid enough defensively but had 3 or 4 crosses and hit the first man every single time. Baptiste is absolutely woeful and should NOT play again. Doyle was anonymous and for some reason didn't shoot the one chance he had. Delaney, Gordon, Comley all pretty average. In a word - ponderous. Too much fucking around not enough determination on the ball.

  25. Delaney MOM, didn’t put a foot wrong defensively and some really good touches on the ball. Santos looks a different player in the middle and was nearly as good as Delaney. Tutte the other real positive, really comfortable on the ball and some nice passes - very surprised he got took off... Comley is a bit nothingy. Hickman, Brockbank, Mascoll, Doyle all had solid enough games - again, surprised Hickman and Mascoll came off... Baptiste is fucking woeful and Gordon couldn’t cross a road (despite getting in good positions). I can’t get my head around the 2 players that I thought would have been too good for this league being the worst on the pitch. Crawford and Sarcevic offered nothing. Crawford did have glimpses but all Sarcevic did was chase shadows and give the ball away! It also makes the midfield unbalanced having the 2 in there - I’d have one playing in the 10 role (Crawford at the moment) and a passing midfielder alongside Tutte, who would be White in a perfect world but maybe Comley or even Riley until White’s back. Things are still progressing, the defence is looking better and better in each game and is playing the way he wants us to play, we just need to sort the balance in midfield and create more chances for Doyle (and learn to cross a ball).

  27. A horrid boring 0-0 off the back of an away victory might be the solid base we need to crack on. I'm looking for positives, it's been a very sleepy second half.

  30. Come on, don’t be daft, like most of these things the government would be asking for adherence rather than getting restaurant staff to impose it. Most would adhere to the rules, some won’t As things stand we will be in a bizarre situation where a 21 year old from ‘the North’ (who has a 1 in a 100,000 chance of dying from Covid) can’t go into their local pub as they are shut, yet 5 miles to ‘the South’ a 90 year old with pre existing conditions (who has a 1 in 5 chance of dying from Covid) can go to their local anyone who thinks it’s impractical to ask the vulnerable groups to shield needs their heads testing IMO

  31. Redditch United under 19's are on a role; won the last three and 7-2 last night against Dudley Town. My grandson is playing really well and they are away at Bilston Monday night - second only on goal difference at the moment but will go top Monday with a win

  33. Let’s say your -25% is an extreme Let’s say the country NETS out at -10% and we cut our public spending by -10% to compensate if a 20% increase over 10 years meant 130k died then a 10% reduction would likely mean many more As you say, we won’t know until we get there, however if in ten years we look back and say more have died because of cuts in spending than we saved trashing the economy in the first place then it was all for nothing

  35. It don’t matter if the Queen signs this petition, It ain’t happening. Lots of decent people’s livelihoods have being destroyed & the Govt don’t give a fcuk. I’ve been disgusted by their incompetence. Football will be right down the list of any re-start. “When dictatorship is a fact, then revolution becomes a right”. I cannot believe the young have been so tolerant. For me it’s about the Kids. They will never get those life experiences back. The fall-out from this, both socially, mentally & economically will be astronomical. What a mess. BTW. The number of deaths in England and Wales between July and September of 2020 was lower than in any other quarter on record.

  36. Agree with all that. Im on DD, theres probably better causes to be wasting £43 a month on, other charities or cocaine etc. However I wont be cancelling, would take too much hassle more than anything Cant see me using any of the rewards, maybe only to buy my lads a kit. Too much going on to use the match passes, but it is what it is. Its a shit situation all round. Not a lot else the club can do, cant knock em at all. Glad we seem to be in safe hands.
