  1. Gather found ladies, Rudy has a story to provide a bit of nostalgia Started off being a wanderers fan as my granddad took me, all kids at school supported United even wore the kits, this was around the Cantona era, they were winning everything but never went I couldn’t understand supporting a team you would never go to watch especially when one was down the road Si many highs and lows Liverpool away, league cup final losses, reading play off final, relegation, promotion, Europe, 5-0 Its been an absolute rollercoaster. The last decade has been awful, seen the soul ripped out of my club and town, it’s been heartbreaking. Seeing us what seemed like minutes from going out of business was the lowest of the low, and I know people will say it’s only football, but it genuinely felt like one of the lowest points of my life. Sleepless nights wondering if my boyhood club would be around in the morning. Football had become a worry rather than an enjoyment. Enter Sharon and FV even under Keith Hill there was a little bit of optimism that we were in better hands, our youngest ever side made up of kids getting a 0-0 against professional opposition was an immense sense of pride. Ian Evatt was a breath of fresh air, I didn’t know much about him (turns out I’ve been on a course at the same time as him, small world) The way he spoke was energetic, @Casino said he was like Rioch, he was right, he’s honest, open to make mistakes and learn from them. You believe what he says, full confidence in him all the time. Even the worst results under IE I still believed he was the right man, he just needed time and support. He got that in abundance from the board, and was trusted to bring the right players in. The football we are playing now, the buzz around the town, the unity with fans is the best it has been since BSA. Every single player from Santos To Maddison has played a role this season and I’m so so proud of them all it feels like that Big Sam team, it feels like that promotion team. This is a big day in our clubs history, we are almost there, ready to dip at the finish line and bring it home. I have ever confidence that we will this afternoon. I hope I get the chance to bump into Sharon one day and say thank you for saving my club I’ll never forget it Can’t be there today because of work but if you’re going down, be safe have fun and have a beer or two for me THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING COYFWM!

  2. My first ever live football game was at anfield watching Bolton beat Liverpool in the cup in 92, I was 10 and was in the centenary stand with my dad who was the Bolton fan and his mate from work who was Liverpool and got the tickets. I wasn't really a Bolton fan having not grown up in Bolton, and my dad hadn't done a great job, but from that day it set the seed. From the next season we got season tickets travelling from Cheshire to Bolton each game, not far but still a trip. I kept my season ticket through uni, but had to miss out on a few mainly Holldsworth Wembley and Preston in Cardiff, but otherwise kept that going until the 2010 season when I just lost my passion and personal reasons meant I didn't want make that trip week in and week out as my family had long since given up. Not long after I moved down Cambridge way and haven't seen as much as I had liked, the last 4-5 years I started to reconnect with the club. It was shit at first but through all the pain of that I rediscovered my deep rooted love for the club travelling to a number of home and away games. This season has been a revelation, we are a club again and one I am deeply proud of, I have watched every game and am excited by the sport again. I really hope we seal things tomorrow, but if we don't then we still go again next week and whilst not going up automatically would be horrible, the journey this season has been phenomenal and regardless of what ultimately happens, my club exists and beats firmly in my heart. COYWM!

  3. Bolton Wanderers Football Club has always been the best and worst thing in my thing to be interested in. Its like (and always has been) the girl at work who you fancy and she flirts with you all the time. She sez come to the Christmas do & I'll deffo nosh you in the taxi home, then she fucks of with Gavin from finance.

  4. Totally disagree. If that was the case we'd be mid table. Exeter did really well second half after throwing the kitchen sink at us. Disappointing result but it's still in our hands.

  5. We looked all over it from about the 5th to the 35th minute, genuinely like we’d pick them off at will and the goal was a belter. Other than that though I just thought Exeter looked like a really good team and probably shaded the game. The defence never looked comfortable, I think it was them having 2 up top, we’ve not really had to deal with that before and Santos/Baptiste looked more hesitant than I’ve seen them for a long time. I just knew we wouldn’t win today, when have bolton ever done anything easy? I’m sure we’ll win next week and go up, but doing it with a game to spare, no chance. No need to over react, but there were some underperformers today, possible that the occasion got to them but I don’t think we’ve been at our best for a while. Next Saturday is huge, we go again and we’ll be league 1 by the end of the day, that’s all that matters.

  6. 10-9, 5-4, 1-0......I don't give a toss. Just score one more than Exeter and we are truly back.

  10. Stop coming on here looking for ways it might work in our favour, that’s not what we should do after a defeat. 😉 We are at the end of the season where anything can happen. With Cambridge bringing it back to 4-4 you only thought there was one winner last night. There’s as many ways it could work for us as it could against us next week. Do YOU not agree that if we play to our best we can beat Crawley next week? This is Bolton Wanderers, none us really expected it to be plain sailing did we? We both thought we’d get third 3/4 weeks ago and get promoted, it’s still very much possible and in our hands.

  16. Most just walked away. Disappointed as any other fan. Don’t know about the yoof. I think the dispersal order in Horwich sent all the cretins down to the ground. I was young once and I’ve seen all sorts of fashion from the Teddy Boys, Mods, Rockers, Soul Boys, Glam Rock...etc. etc. Sports Direct is the new fashion scene. (It has to be black) Soulless, clueless and senseless. Flares look good but not when you throw them indiscriminately into a crowd. Dicks.

  18. No because we have been shit for a number of years, do you think this lot are worse than those that lost at Accrington Stanley ? This lot have plenty of limitations but to say they have less fight than some of the recent teams is not true. Clearly my opinion Calling me or any one squire makes you sound like a total prick.

  19. Oh well, strange second half with Exeter clearly going full pelt for a winner after their equaliser but all ours didn't seem to have that same urgency. Did some of ours think a draw was enough or did they run out of steam ? But....it's still in our hands & i'd rather be us than Morecambe, but it's going to be a long week.

  22. If Morecambe draw and we lose we’re out of it, at 1-1 we’d of been promoted, that last goal is a disaster.

  24. We may already have enough points to go up. Its still in our hands. We were 19th not so long ago. I refuse to give up on them. Would have been nice to do it here, but I don’t care if it’s in Crawley. They know what’s needed.

  33. To be fair everyone on here loves to mock scousers despite Bolton being rough as fuck. everyone who went had to have a negative test for entry. the event was very well ran and a good pilot scheme. Multiple events like this are happening this weekend and hopefully it will allow positive moves forward.

  35. This was the hardest, most difficult part. Most of my friends are liverpool, city and united, they rarely go to games and just didn't get the anger and upset this caused. The constant questions of, who will you follow if you do go out of business and the surprise when I would just say BWFC of course. But this whole season has felt different, a corner well and truly turned and a club I fucking love to bits again. Anyway no nervous, sleepless nights here. 7 pints and a bottle of pinot noir saw to that. Just got to nurse my head to 3 o'clock.

  41. The only games I've managed to watch this season have been the 2 televised here. My Dad has insisted that I don't get up in the middle of the night to watch and jinx it. So in a few hours I'll be dropping enough Temazepam to knock a horse out. Hopefully when I wake the usual culprits will be moaning about another 1-0 win and the rest of the not rights on here will be celebrating and drinking heavily.

  43. Soooo looking forward to this. Still hoping that we can win the league, tho we may av run out of games to do that now, but WE NEVER GIVE UP. Its great that our destiny is in our own hands, I’m certain that we won’t waste this opportunity. Another 1-0 will be fine. I actually really really enjoy these 1-nillers, smug in the knowledge that try as they might, the opposition ain’t gonna score! 😂 Anyone else?
