  1. I know I’m starting to sound like a broken record but my god this isn’t that complicated. If everyone carries on piling into the pub and cuddling up to everyone they see then people are going to die. Might be 100. Might be 1000. Might be 10000. Might be 100000. But people will die. Just stay home for bit and stop moaning.

  2. Looking increasingly likely that we are going to have to close down the business I’ve spent the last 21 years helping to build. Not even the slightest clue what I’ll do if that happens. Does that mean I’m now in favour of giving up on trying to control the virus? Does it fuck. I’d rather give my Mum, Dad and Father in law the best chance of staying alive thanks very much. People talk a lot about the mental health issues this crisis is causing. They are horrible and people clearly need a lot of help. But imagine the long term impact of living in the knowledge that you didn’t do everything

  5. What do visiting managers say to their players just before sending their players out? "These blokes think they are Barcelona with their swanky stadium and tippy tappy building form the back... take it from me they are not good enough... run faster than them, be the first to every 50-50 and badger them to the end and you'll get something out of the game." 7. Was all because of a gypo funeral. Roads closed between Golborne and Ince to allow the funeral procession. Pubs shut in Golborne and Lowton last night because of the gathering crowds. Really boiled my piss seeing this on Twitter after having to tell people they weren’t allowed to come to my dad’s funeral because of the 30 person limit.

  10. He's in same category as Evatt right now. Came in and talked the talk. Walking the walk isn't happening yet, so he's under scrutiny. Also his name and his job title aren't doing him any favours. I'll have to give it another 10 games before I judge both Evatt and Phoenix properly because I don't think any of the signings have lived up to expectation yet. I do understand people's concern and frustration with the current situation but I think we'll come good and all these worries will be forgotten quickly. FV have put a lot of new things in place and for me, it's too early to judge the

  11. If you want to know how I found his tweet read this paragraph, if you don't, go to the next paragraph, this one is v.boring. You posted a link to his twitter feed. My mobile shortens the feed to a Preview, so to see it all I click on it. If I click on his name, it takes me to the top of his feed, and opens up twitter. The tweet I posted is his 2nd latest one, yours is a few earlier. So no, I didn't go searching, I had to scroll down to find yours and in doing so, read 3 or 4 mote recent tweets. He's posted a picture of 20 folk walking down a tube entrance, which I haven't commented on,

  12. The way my work is at present and how bad it looks like getting, a season ticket is a luxury item that I probably can't afford, but would having that £350-ish make any discernible difference to my life? Probably not, so Aunty Shaz is welcome to it. The club probably need it more than I do.

  18. I am almost 62 with underlying health conditions ( I used to run marathons and play football, I was as fit as a butchers dog until 2 years ago) I was sent home from work on 23rd March and deemed as vulnerable, I have worked at home since then. I have been on to the Colls once and the pub 3 times, I take the dog out every morning early when there is hardly anybody about and get a paper on my home (from the garage where no fucker wears a mask except me). I have done everything asked of me to keep myself and others safe but it is getting so frustrating seeing folk flouting the rules, some of us o

  22. Can't protect the vulnerable very well though, there's loads of them, some of them have jobs, some are cared for, many live in houses with other people. I keep seeing stuff like this - and yes, in an ideal world we'd let all the people who aren't going to be ill catch it, and all the ones who might get ill we'll lock away - but how? - none of these so called experts ever explain how we'd do it - what happens to the 40 yr old mum with cancer - do we tell her to stay in a hermetically sealed room for a year - there's 375k new cancer diagnosis a year, million of old, millions with diabetes,

  25. I feel a bit better about posting games from our previous Div 4 season now we've won a game in the current one. Although the point in 87/88 season we've reached actually means this post is an FA Cup tie from early December. November and the first half of December became charecterised by successes in cup games but poor league results. A win at Burnley in the FA Cup First Round (followed by a Freight Rover win at Stockport) punctuated league defeats at Burnley, a home draw with Cambridge and dispiriting defeats at Colchester and Tranmere. Amidst all that came a Second Round FA Cup win

  28. Asylum seekers who enter the UK from Europe face being turned away after Brexit under a shake-up planned by Home Secretary Priti Patel. The proposed changes would mean asylum claims by migrants who come through the EU and enter the UK illegally would be "inadmissible". Great news. Let’s hope the government implement this.

  34. You know what I’m sorry, that was harsh. Apologies. I deal with data, a lot and I felt like you were telling us how to suck eggs. Let me be clear; I do not deny corona for one second; nor do I believe that certain measures are not sensible. My overarching view is that there will be more illness, misery and death of the measures are disproportionate to the risk. I also post thought pieces from SME’s. Doesn’t mean they are gospel nor that I believe they are, but they are worthy of debate. Take the open letter I posted; you and Tom scoffed because of who tweeted it, ignoring the c

  35. The older some fellas get, the less they give a shit. This allows any more right wing thoughts to cascade over the hypothalamus and straight out of the body, when they'd previously been kept in check. Retirement, all those little aches and pains, constantly checking life insurance policies, not understanding why younger generations are zipping past them, only getting pokey wets once a month. All these things are a Sword of Damocles that leer and threaten above their wrinkly heads. It makes them less able to manage thoughts that aren't completely linear and simple. Galling i

I have seen my income half by 50% because clients are having to shut up shop and have reduced income I was / am fine with how it was the last few weeks, and saw that as the best/only way forward the issue isn't with those who are happy to stick to the rules, it's with those who don't want to why the fuck should they get to do what they want whilst spreading it around? it they hadn't been, there wouldn't be these new further restrictions hopefully they will change their tune when they can't breath properly

I wouldn't want Johnson to be weak, so good on him today, his statement was pretty spot on, and if it's true what Frost said yesterday he has every right, but it's never the EU's fault and it never ceases to amaze me how many of our own people would support the EU over the UK, our politicians are bad, but that lot, christ, fucking ultra charlatans the lot of them.

  42. I’ve just been in the supermarket and 4 kids probably around 12ish not wearing masks as Is their right. Stood in queue right up behind a woman and her young child both wearing masks. She politely asked the kids to stand away and stay at a distance. One told her to “fuck off I will do what I want” the rest laughed and didn’t move. Whilst being mindful they are young kids but also mindful they’ve just told a polite woman to fuck off I had a word and asked them not so politely to move away from the woman. What sort of values do parents instill in their kids to have them behave like t
