  2. What do visiting managers say to their players just before sending their players out? "These blokes think they are Barcelona with their swanky stadium and tippy tappy building form the back... take it from me they are not good enough... run faster than them, be the first to every 50-50 and badger them to the end and you'll get something out of the game." 6. You constantly claim some sort of moral high ground on Brexit - saying you voted to leave because it’s for the common good, even though 48% of people didn’t agree. Fair dinkum, vote won, we leave and crack on. And we all hope your wisdom and social care for us all is rewarded. And yet, something comes along on Covid that doesn’t fit in with your world view/need to drink lager in Spain, and suddenly everyone is a cunt and they’re wrong and it’s bollocks. Forthnately, these decisions are made regardless of your opinion and a good job too. As you constantly point out, it’s a d

  8. Mayor of the Sheffield City Region Dan Jarvis has issued a statement on South Yorkshire entering tier three restrictions. He said: “We all recognise the gravity of the situation and have taken the responsible route to ensure we save lives and livelihoods, and protect our NHS. Copied from the BBC website. That’s how you do it.

  9. Deffo a turning point. Dug themselves out of a hole and the big money signings stepped up when needed. We simply couldn't lose that game. We showed the fighting spirit the manager was on about on Saturday. Onwards and upwards.

  12. They aren’t separate points though are they? I believe AB attempted to represent GM and their needs and the govt have put politics first, fucked him and made another decision thrown in the face of the people of this area. They used the North’s working class for Brexit and to remain in power and now they show their true colours and cast them aside. Im neither Tory nor Labour so I don’t give a shit about entrenched politics but I believe in decency...and I have a very strong opinion on who was on that side.

  14. They are easy, negative observations that anyone with an ounce of football knowledge would struggle to disagree with. And of course you have the higher ground as you’ve got a whole host of poor results to back you up. Trying to be positive (realistic) is difficult and without any (few) results to back it up leaves you with the danger of sounding deluded - I’ll try not to. 1/ This needs time - more half of us were giving him till at least the end of October, some more. 2/ With the above comes a whole host of complexity about getting all those negatives you highlight sorted;

  15. Aye my mate rang me as I was going in to college back in 2001. Didnt answer. He was cut up about splitting up with his mrs and finding out she was pregnant. He spent the day on a binge of drink and drugs, got that smashed he choked on his own sick after passing out and died. Moral of the story. If your mate needs a chat, have a chat. You never know whats round the corner.

So do some of our players it seems. i understand the fans frustration but this is a new team and it’s going to take time to get it right. How long? Can’t say at this stage but I think it’s gonna be a struggle this season, no shit Sherlock I hear you say. the sooner IE calls them out and wakes them from their slumber, the better... hes done that now so we need to see what the response is. if it wer

  21. I wouldn't want Johnson to be weak, so good on him today, his statement was pretty spot on, and if it's true what Frost said yesterday he has every right, but it's never the EU's fault and it never ceases to amaze me how many of our own people would support the EU over the UK, our politicians are bad, but that lot, christ, fucking ultra charlatans the lot of them.

No - and on the basis that Barrow have - (1) Not won a League game this season (2) Have conceded in all 6 of those games played , and (3) Have scored just once in 4 of those games and failed to score in the other two The result is quite obviously going to be a 2-0 , or possibly even a 3-0 Barrow win

  35. The match yesterday had a few firsts and one of them was to play imitation crowd noise. I think that one of the intentions was to rouse the team, which clearly didn’t work! However in the match thread, @Spidercame out of this “They should ask all fans to send a 10 second recording in and play them all at once”, this amused me and I think a few others so let’s see what gems folk come up with.

  38. Here's the problem, people are deliberately looking for flaws, what, to make themselves look smart? You can't go into Liverpool without a good reason. End of. Is the correct answer, no confusion. Travelling through Birmingham on the M6 doesn't really actually count does it, seriously? Pedantic fuckers everywhere. Post the cunt, like Zico says.

  40. Definitely got the running bug. 17 miles around Kinder, Mam Tor, Losehill and Edale. An 18 miler locally around Carrington, Warburton, etc. 10 miler around Flixton/Stretford. And then a 9.5 mile run up & down Snowdon yesterday. Interspersed with a number of 5 milers. Feeling pretty chuffed. And then see a mate has ran a 30 miler through the night in the lakes with ascents the equivalent of 4 Snowdon’s. Deflated!!!

Would think so Moneyball isn’t just about buying and selling for a profit, part of it is just getting the best team together within a budget Or at least that’s what I got from watching the film last week. Brad Pitt signed a few old timers who could do a job but had no resale value Although I think our recruitment policy is more Bingo ball than moneyball
