Wow, a day out in the sun with the family and I log on to find a full on Brexiteer Lemon Party.
-
Don’t waste your energy. He simply doesn’t understand / refuses to acknowledge what is in front of him.
-
Reports are that the gunman was shooting at police. She was standing near the police and was hit by one of the bullets.
-
Let’s hope the incident in Londonderry is a one off. We don’t need this shit going on in Northern Ireland.
-
Precisely my point. They formed a couple of weeks ago as a stand against the current Brexit debacle (and as an ego trip / publicity stunt for Farage). People are simply voting for them as a pro-Brexit statement and nothing else. You're fundamentally misunderstanding what the "poll" represents. This isn't a general election. This doesn't show what you're claiming it shows. Plus, nobody in their right mind is going to defect to the Brexit party. It'll be non-existent in 6 months (possibly much less).
-
What are they "in the lead" of? A vote for MEPs, where a vote for the Brexit party is basically just a vote to make a point that they think the Brexit process is being handled badly and that we should leave ASAP. They should be targeting 52% of the electorate, at least. If it was a general election, that would be different. But it isn't.

Well, if our man in the City is to be believed, Bassini knows how to make money from property deals.
-
6th guaranteed Europa.

Farage is keen to boost his own image / ego and also his MEP pension (he won't be giving that up in protest to the EU "gravy train"). He realised a while ago what UKIP was becoming and got out. This is his last chance (before Brexit eventually gets sorted) to cash in on anti-EU sentiment.
-
Every month or so he invites the press down to take a photo of him drinking a pint of ale in a pub. Some people are naive enough to think that makes him “one of them”.

Well, I’m a generation younger than you and Mounts and I don’t want 10 years of shit. I have mortgages to pay and two young kids to look after. 10 years of shit risks my children’s upbringing and the roof over their head. No thanks. It’s easier to live with 10 years of shit if you’re sat in The Red Lion, watching it on Sky and reading about it in the Daily Mail / Costa Blanca News.

Yes Mr Mainwaring.

If you handn't blocked my posts in a hissy fit, you'd know I dislike Corbyn as much as the next man.

Scotland have already had a referendum. There should be no second referendum. Outside of the EU, many economies are fragile. The US economy is likely to slow in the next few years. China’s has been slowing for years. Japan is sluggish. Many emerging markets in Asia are dependent on those large powerhouses. And politics in South America has effected economies there such as Venezuela and Argentina. It wouldn’t surprise me to see others struggle. Russia is suffering from US sanctions. A significant concern is that the big global economies are agreeing / enhancing trade deals with the EU (although the US have a “US first” approach with everyone). We are struggling to do the same. Some, such as Japan, have openly said that they expect that the UK will be given worse terms than with the EU.

I’ve caught one.
-
England. Not even the United Kingdom. You really are like Bolty. Do you own bulldogs named George, Winston and Maggie?
-
I work for a multinational entity, I think globally every day.
-
You sound like Bolty. Ignore the future and focus on the past. What happened to the British Empire?
-
Precisely. We'll be getting no favours from the EU from here on in. Just like we got no favours in negotiating the Brexit deal. Brexiteers will use things like this as an example of why we shouldn't be part of the "evil" EU. In fact, it's an example of the benefits of being within it. It will also, somehow, be the remoaners' fault.

So, Howard may/may not be telling the truth. No surprises there. Regarding the (alleged) factoring, I think there is perhaps one step that I am missing here (or maybe I'm just slow on the uptake). BWFC do get some cash from all this (albeit they are lumped with the debt to the factoring companies). That hasn't actually been referred to above, as far as I can see. So, whilst we don't know whether any of this is true or not, is the process that Howard has alleged has happed as follows: 1. EFL money and transfer fees gets paid to Burnden Leisure ("BL") (or perhaps direct to to BWFC, who then pays it to BL). 2. BL pays £13.3m to Inner Circle Investments ("ICI"), as a loan. ICI therefore should pay back £13.3m to BL (in due course), but in the short term, ICI is cash rich to the tune of £13.3m. 3. A factoring company agrees (with BL?) that it will pay £13.3m now, but it will expect to be repaid that £13.3m in due course (plus some fees). That £13.3m makes its way to BWFC, so the club is now £13.3m richer (good news). The downside for BWFC is that they also have the liability to pay that £13.3m back to the factoring company; however (in theory) BWFC should not worry, because when ICI repays the £13.3m loan it got from BL, BL will then give that money to BWFC so that BWFC can repay the factoring company. However, things then go sour: 4. ICI, which has £13.3m of cash in its account (the loan from BL), then distributes that £13.3m to its shareholder (Ken). Ken makes a windfall of £13.3m. 5. ICI now has no money left to repay the loan to BL. BWFC still owes the factoring company £13.3m, but there is no way of repaying that using the money from BL, because BL will never get their loan repaid by ICI. 6. BWFC have spent the £13.3m that they received to keep the club going. They therefore have no way of repaying that debt from their own cash. The factoring companies are left out of pocket and ultimately become creditors of BWFC. Ken is £13.3m better off. Is that what is meant to have happened? As an aside, where do the factoring companies' fees come from? Is that taken out of the £13.3m, before it gets paid to BWFC? I.e. do BWFC only received (say) £12m?

I bet most fans don’t, but the press do and the fans read the press. Only 3 or 4 paragraphs into these articles and it’s mentioned. I appreciate though that it makes a big difference that our recent history also involves the Premiership and European adventures etc that other clubs don’t. https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1102699/Bolton-Wanderers-liquidation-administration-High-Court-hearing-Ken-Anderson-BWFC/amp https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.dailymail.co.uk/wires/ap/article-6882573/amp/Bolton-given-extra-time-settle-debts-avoid-liquidation.html

They are both prem teams though. Compared to, say, Rotherham or (as soon to be league one) Shrewsbury or Fleetwood, I think Bolton would affect the footballing world more.
-
Can someone remind me of Howard’s statement of / guess at / lie about the financial difference for Ken between liquidation and having his shares taken for nothing? How much are we talking? I can imagine an unscrupulous individual forcing liquidation if it saves him (or makes him) a few million quid. However, would a multimillionaire (which he is) who works in the world of football want to live with the shit that he and his family will have to face if he was to destroy a founder member of the football league - all out of spite? He would be ostracised if it turns out that he had an offer on the table to walk away with club’s debts paid in full, but caused a football club / community focus to fold because the offer didn’t give him a multi-million pound golden handshake.
