Anyone else noticed a huge influx of Southerners to Bolton and the North West in the last few years? At my youngest’s football training, I reckon at least a quarter of parents are Southerners. Fleeing London? BBC relocation? Bit weird watching local teams being encouraged with shouts of “Find the space Quentin!” instead of “Get f****** stuck in Darren!”

Pretty sure I bought every issue of every fanzine from Trotters Revival (in Balmoral late 80s), HWGA( Tony Coffey?), White Love and it’s other names and one by a lad from Farnworth (Chris Mcglinn?…decent footballer in his day) Ex missus binned them all. Gonna have to buy all the old copies…loved reading them. Not related to Bolton fanzines but remember reading an issue of Red Issue where the author spoke about a Bolton V Stoke match he attended early 90s and said the violence was akin the the chaos he experienced at Old Trafford during the 70’s

If England was a war zone, I’d use whatever money I had available to pay the people smugglers to get my children to a safe country. I wouldn’t leave them behind. My missus and kids would be the first to leave to safety.

I can imagine there being numerous things occurring during the trial that only add to the conspiracy theory that certain people are being protected.

Had a proper good chat with someone today from out the area about the Bolton accent. She was on an about how most people in the North West sounds the same apart from scousers. I told her that I could recognise about 10 different accent within 15 miles of Bolton….and I reckon I even narrow accents down to certain parts of Bolton… By my reckoning there’s at least 4 accents within Bolton that you could roughly pinpoint where people are from! Central Bolton, Westhoughton Bolton, Middle class Bolton, Asian Bolton. I even reckon I could tell if someone was from Tonge Moor/Breightmet by the the they pronounced can’t.
