Someone has already mentioned that his pre-match warm-ups were worth the admission fees alone. Went to loads of aways in 79-80 and it was always worthwhile getting in the ground early. I remember, in particular, Norwich and Stoke (Victoria Ground) where Frank basically ignored the routines the rest of the team were going through and performed lots of ‘Okocha-style’ ball juggling in front of the main stand. Both sets of supporters would applaud him. Ian Greaves said that he couldn’t coach him. He just let him get on with it.

Speaking of 1960s centre forwards, I noticed from the BN obituaries this week that Ernie Phythian had passed away, in South Africa. Another, along with Eric Redrobe, from the post-Nat Lofthouse barren years.

The Milosevic story is actually true, and was widely reported at the time. I vividly recall a pre-season game at Atherton and Gerry Taggart yelling “Sasa, pass the fucking ball, you greedy ****”.

Earlier on in this thread you posted some, as usual, informative and knowledgeable facts (and opinions). There were a couple of posts where you you did not insult or patronise anyone, nor did you mention FIBS or the Beeno. I was impressed. I started to write a response to you which commended you on your apparent new-found civility and to hope that, like all good educators, you could share without shaming or insulting. I have had to scrap that response as it appears a leopard cannot change its spots. It's a pity, but you just appear to want to intimidate people with your obnoxious superiority complex. Maybe you weren't always like this but your desire to antagonise would seem to outweigh your usefulness as the world's greatest accountant.

I am not a juvenile (or I would be quoting the Beeno), and I am not a bully. I know a lot about my own particular profession, as no doubt lots of other characters on here do about theirs, but I don't lecture others or patronise them at every opportunity. I have met pompous oafs like you from time to time. They tend to have no concept of their own deficiencies and invariably make themselves appear to be complete arseholes, best avoided.
