  1. Comfortable home win for Derby against a poor Bolton team so I think 4-0 if we defend better than we have in the last 3 games
  2. I have just seen an article in the BN which says "Phillips sees improvements despite defeat" , well that's funny because I though we were terrible. I have sat and watched some shockingly poor performances over the years and yet I thought we hit a new low on Saturday. I hope that Holdsworth goes out and finds a capable manager for next season who has the experience and contacts in football to ensure a return to the Championship within 2 seasons.
  3. A pal of mine says his Daughter knows the Woman, she is aged 23 or 24 and he claims she is not the full shilling and NL met her in Fanny's. I have a view that this affair has to have had an impact on his ability to manage the squad a win games. He is sat in the dugout at Ipswich in the knowledge that this Girl has gone round to see his Wife!! pretty sure his mind will have been on the fall out from that conversation and also the fact that he required a bottle of stain devil for his underpants. His mind will have been on anything other than the game..
  4. I agree and I am going tonight. Not sure what to expect really after the news about players not being paid. Oh well, just maybe we could get 3 points.
  5. I bet Madine will be collecting the car park money tonight and putting it straight into his pocket!! The timing of this is terrible really...
  6. On the back of Saturday's win I think we will maintain the momentum and produce another home win 2 - 1 Madine just doesn't look like scoring anytime soon and I know I may be in the minority but throwing Heskey on brings very little. I would have liked to have seen Dobbie instead of Heskey.
  7. I would like to see Madine & Dobbie start up front tomorrow as I think that pair could produce goals.
  8. Ok, so I just looked at the latest accounts filed at Companies House which run to 30th June 2014 for Burnden Leisure Ltd . Total assets on the balance sheet including fixed/non current assets total £50.3 million. Current assets total £7.6 million giving total assets of £57.9 million. Current liabilities are £38.4 million and long term liabilities are £179.2 million. I cant see any other assets and the net worth of the club is detailed as negative at £162.9 million (in the red) I am not sure why a few folks think the club has more assets to be honest. The last PLC accounts stated it included the hotel, land and academy.
  9. I just had a quick look at the 2013 balance sheet which was the last set of accounts produced as a PLC before switching to a private limited company. The total assets on that balance sheet is £50 million and that includes the land, hotel and academy. The liabilities on that balance sheet are £148 million and there are carefully worded comments made in the chairman statement in relation to the business being a "going concern" with the support of Eddie. I think that we have seen a further deterioration of the financials since 2013 which is highlighted by the £181 million of debt in the press this week. I don't think Eddie has any more money to put in. His net worth is shown as £40 million and he has been dropped in the wealth list due to the money he has put into BWFC so even HIS league position has dropped!! He started off with a reported wealth of £150 million several years ago but clearly has sunk much of that into the club. Any new investor or owner will want their money to go towards the recovery of the business and to benefit the club on the pitch so in real terms Eddie will be lucky to get 10p in the £1 for the existing debt.
  10. That was great Drew and for the first time I have not had to key them in. Thanks
  11. Always good beer in Burton but it will be a midweek fixture so limited drinking!!
  12. I went along last night and I agree with the other lads. The more I see and hear from NL the more impressed I am with the lad.
  13. I always think its great to see the George Cross draped around the ground. Its certainly better, for me, than seeing an advert for Bolton Ball bearings!! how many people will call them the next day. Wait a minute! I suddenly realised I need some ball bearings, I better get on it!!! I have taken to leaving 8 minutes before the final whistle so I don't sit in the traffic chaos. Now get this, I feel guilty for leaving early and then I reflect on the drivel being dished out wholesale on the pitch last season and the start of this and feel much better.
  14. We will get dicked and so will most of the Brighton supporters after the game.
  15. My Daughter asked me this morning, "why do you keep going if it makes you miserable" and I don't really have an answer. We look really poor again this season but I firmly believe that Gartside and his board will not remove DF after 10 games or at Christmas. It is a pipe dream brought about by the supporters desire to see improvements on the pitch which may or may not happen. 1 point from 9 and losing to Boro at home for the first time since 1987 is simply not good enough and you could argue that Boro were lucky but the game I watched I would have to say they were better organised than us and were sharper going forward.
