Nah, it was Stuart Lovell. Part of our Ascot gang in the 90s and a decent lad. Met in the boozer at Reading station early doors a couple of weeks after the play off but hadn't seen him since final. Spead Eagle at corner of ground was rammed with Bolton that night and rumour went round that ground was full about 7. Never seen a boozer empty so quick. Shame about the Reading few in the away (town) end. Didn't stand a chance really.

Went down the Rose Bowl today for final day of Hants Lancs. Sun, beer, few tasty shots, etc. Waited for declaration for a shot at Hants late on but Lancs just batted out all day. Could of declared with them needing about 280 off 40 overs but didn't. I didn't get it. Why not try and get a win when you know you're not going to lose?

Had that a couple of weeks back at a retail park in Reading. Lad pulls up in BMW, suited and booted with a back seat full of watches saying he was sales rep and had the RRP price list with him. Nearly parted with £80 for someting that looked decent but he shot off when I looked on the phone on line. £6.99 on line the cheeky bastard!

Heard last night that last game Friday played was against us when we beat Cardiff 6-3 in 1977. I can't find the programme even though I was there and can't find the line ups anywhere on web. Can anyone confirm? Film (calling it 'Friday') has got go-ahead (£6m budget!) now so it looks like we'll get a few mentions near the end.
