  1. Don't like the Emirates as no atmosphere but thought Wembley was spot on apart from the cost of some stuff.

I was sat at pitch side and the seats at the top upper looked absolutely miles away. Anyone up there and could you tell what was going on?

Surely someone on here is still at school / college and can look for how high it is and can then work out the distance from the centre spot given the circumference is 1km to the top seats. I reckon about 200 metres! Any other guesses before some smart arse works it out?

  2. First pint in the pub at Reading station about 10.45, mate turned up about half hour later, then another before train at 11.30 to Paddington.

Big pack of cheese and onion Walkers on train surrounded by loads of Arsenal and a fella with two young lads about 8, one in an Arsenal kit and the other in Liverpool so god knows where he was sitting.

Tube to Baker Street. One minute to get on fast one to Wembley Park, just made it by sticking arm in the door when it was just closing. Asked the nearest lad it is was the fast one to Uxbridge to which I got 'Fuck off you c**t'. Nice! Doors closed. Mate notices that the only lot in the carriage were about 30 Stoke lads and about 10 police. Obvious that this lot had been tracked through and an eye was being kept. Moved away from the door and nearer to the coppers as 30 v 2 didn't look that decent odds and some of them lads looked a bit tasty!

Off at Wembley Park and packed with Stoke. Wrong end of the ground so made way to The Greyhound via an offie for a tinnie.

Whites were in full voice around the stadium and remember some old Stoke geezer must have been about 90 having a pop at me, "Does that clown Nat Lofthouse still play for you?". Laughed it off at the time but thinking back I would have kicked his walking stick from under him as he sounded like he was serious and had obviously thought about this little dig at a Bolton fan for a while.

Bumped into an old mate and his missus and nipper further down the way but Greyhound was heaving so into Mannions over the road. F'ing good sing song, few pints, offie for a tinnie and fags and back for KO.

Thank fuck the seats my mate got from the FA were in the Bolton end. Block 123, spot on, right on the half way line 21 rows back, right on the segregation bit opp the dug outs. A Stokie over the segregation bit really pissed me off all game giving it large. On his own, absolute tosser who eventually on about 75 mins got warned by the stewards. Even at mid 40s and never an 'ard git really the beer kicked in and I really thought about getting over to him but didn't. Shit game, not amused by scuffles white on white, ?8.90 for chips and chicken bits, got pissed on in the bogs by some lad who must of had the most ppowerful piss I ever heard as it rebounded off the silver bit and soaked my arm, washed arm and hands, left on 85 mins and back to Paddington as mate had had enough and pints were off his agenda. Second time I've left early in over 800 games apart from being lobbed out. First one was at Fulham about 3 years back when I felt shit and it was freezing - Carling Cup I think. Couldn't face extra time.

XL bacon double cheeseburger at Paddington and train with a load of Arsenal about 6 Stoke and 1 Bolton from Wokingham with his mate in the buffet bit. Two tinnies and the chance of a chat with a real fittie who was on her way back from the London Marathon with her medal and all that. She told me she was part of the elite marathon squad so fair play. Beer thoughts about how fit and firm her bod must be started so suggested that it might be a good idea to go for a quick drink in Reading and she agreed. Happy days!

Sat in bar in Reading and who turns up but the missus's ex and the step son back from the Arsenal. Now in deep shit and a bit of a panic on but thought 'Fuck it' so taxi back to her place. She wouldn't let me in as she was 'tired' so off to the local for last orders and home about 11.30pm.

Woke up to find the business card of the fittie in the pocket so meeting for lunch on Wednesday.

Now waiting for missus to start asking questions when she's told what the ex and her lad saw. I'll worry about that when it happens.

Always a white and here's to another day of memories, good or bad, as they come with the territory of being a white.

  3. Cheers bwfcdan. Much appreciated and sounds like a spot on spot. There was a ground map somewhere on here I think but couldn't find it for luv nor money!

How being where the tickets are is a neutral zone I've got no friggin' clue but they say I won't get in with colours.

Loads of beer before kick off 'll take me mind off it. :drinks: Happy days. Then work on Monday.

  4. Right got my tickets in Entrance N Block 123 Row 21. Cheers mate - bleeding neutral zone!

Anyone know if that's anywhere near our allocation? If it's not anyone got a couple of spares anywhere in the Bolton end as I'm not sitting near the Stokies?

  5. Well fucked off now. Just had a call from my mate sorting the tickets to say that we're in a 'neutral' bit so can't wear colours.

I know they're decent tickets and come from the FA but what the fucks all that about? Will I sit on my arse and keep my gob shut when we score? Will I fuck, so they'll know who I'm supporting so I might as well wear my colours. What a load of shite.

Anyone got a couple of spares up for grabs so I can come in with you lot?? Or want to swop anywhere in our end for our two??

  6. A couple of us meeting up at the Three Guineas next to Reading station at 11.30 on Sunday, supping and then boarding a fast one into Paddington about 12.30.

Anyone else coming in from here and fancy meeting up?

Might be a few Arsenal, scousers and the odd Stokie on the train but getting a beer in the buffet bit shouldn't be a problem!

  7. I can certainly confirm that Brazil likes a shant or ten.

I was out on the lash with him a while back with Laurie McMenemy, Steve Foster, Alan Hudson and few others and he left straight from the bar to get ready for his morning show. Not a wink of shut eye and off he went. Listened to him that morning and all he spoke about was getting lashed the night before! Fair play!

    On the other hand;

Foster went guy when he got pissed and fell asleep under the urinals in the bog

Hudson ran out of cash to fund his triple vodkas and orange and sold his tie to a punter in the hotel for ?80

McMenemy really pissed me off. First one up for breakfast, went for the papers and looked like he hadn't touched a drop

I felt shite the next morning needless to say ......

    Happy days!

  8. God knows why I'm putting this on here but the missus wants to know who will replace Richard Keys on Sky.

Just seen that DS got us the winner! Stella been downed and just wine left in the fridge. That'll do!

Anyone else think that Ben Shepherd would do a decent job?

  9. With some of you lot mentioning the Aldershot games reminds me of an interview I took about 5 years back with a bloke about a manager's job who told me that one of his proudest achievements in football was captaining Aldershot team that beat us in the play offs. Really p*ssed me off at the time and told him he had no chance straight away and didn't tell him I was a Bolton fan until a while later when we were chatting footie over a pint.

Never did check if he was lying or not but anyone got the programme and can tell me if their captain was McDonald? Ian I think? Always called him Macca so never was sure what his real name was!

    Cheers.

Oh and my biggest disappointment was getting mugged by Luton fans when I was selling programmes on Manny Road about 1980. They robbed all my programmes and the cash. You used to get 5p (IIRC) a programme commission in them days and I ended up with sod all! Couldn't do alot really as I was only little for a 14 year old .........

Oh, and a copper telling me I couldn't take my chips into the Manor Ground at Oxford, confiscating 'em and finishing 'em off!

  10. No, but I do know them!

I looked after finances at the club in the days of Higgins, Turburville and Theo up to the point where it was just Higgins and Thorpe, then just Higgins and then no club! Believe it or not we made massive strides forward but the historic stuff crippled us in the end especially the Westley issues!

Great memories though and loads of good people there ....... just hope they get through the current off field problems.

So who are you then? Would I know you?

  11. Ruddy 'eck Exile Girl I thought I was the only one on here with a massive problem with Westley. A1 tosser of the highest degree and I've seen it first hand.

Back in 2002/3 he owned and managed Farnborough Town who got beat by the Arse at Highbury. When the gates receipts (nearly ?0.5m) arrived he issued an invoice to FTFC for the same amount, wrote himself a cheque and fucked off to Stevenage with 8 1st teamers in tow and somehow managed to forget the vat payments due on the gate receipts, the fans, etc.

Not only did this completely fuck up FTFC as a few years later they were liquidated when the old debts etc exceeded ?1m but he contributed to fucking it up for the rest of the small clubs as I think this was the last game ever to be switched grounds.

An arsehole who was more interested in the millions he inherited from his dad than anything else.

He caused me so much shit a few years back. Why the fuck couldn't that idiot have decked him instead of Scott Laird??

His name makes my blood boil but rant over.
