  1. If a Bolton player had made those tackles the pie eaters would have weighed in, surrounding the ref and pushing the culprit etc, we just let it ride. The referee would have had to react. I don't understand why we don't do it.
  2. That first bad tackle was so important for the game. Thee was another about a minute later. As soon as they went unpunished I knew we where in trouble. In the higher divisions there would have been a yellows all day long.
  3. this was worse for me on paper we have a much better team
  4. Morley isn't totally to blame here. It was evident in the first 20 mins that it was going to be the same performance/result as last time. When the tackles start flying in where is our captain and senior players remonstrating to the ref, or even having a go at the player involved. It is just accepted. The new players on the bench gave us further options and they were used far too late too. I think Jones has been below par for a while now and there are some better/faster options.
  5. Wigan deserved to win on the day, as annoying as it sounds. They have found a way of beating us and we won’t or can’t adapt. They were always going to hit us hard but the ref let the first bad tackle go and the second and the dice was cast. The first tackle was a booking all day long. Sheehan was targeted with tackles and shirt pulling and got no protection. We didn’t match their passion and capitulated which really hurts the average fan.
  6. Started off at primary school in the late sixties for me too, carried on to secondary. it was constant piss taking from supposedly Bolton people. Well into my sixties I should be over it by now, but only have to see a red shirt to bring back those memories. Even now it makes my blood boil. I still can't understand why if you were born in Bolton why you would go elsewhere to support another team and form a rivalry with your home town team.
  7. Best ever Christmas present though
  8. There is a lot to be positive about. There has been substantial investment. Although the owners must be thinking the club has to wash it’s own face in some areas and as a consequence some prices have increased. Recruitment in hospitality is difficult to say the least and is totally out of the club’s control. Having said this after the Anderson debacle it is hard to give total faith in any owner.
  9. I have a feeling that Jones could be sitting on the bench more this year. Lack of a physical presence in midfield is a concern. Positive performance though, and overall it looks a stronger squad with more attacking intent.
  10. Yep, needs more confidence/self belief. Evatt will develop him and make him decent.
  11. Who says on here it will be reet, because it will be. We may have a few very nice surprises coming our way
  12. Curcic at Bradford in the Cup Whatmore at Derby Quarter Final League Cup
  13. Yes there are probably better examples to give. But the point is recruitment is not an exact science. I am just delighted that we can improve the whole squad by signing our own players. Unbelievable considering we where three years ago.
  14. Looks like we will be signing a few players. Some will be successful and some won’t. Evatt said that there wasn’t enough goals in the team and is looking to remedy it. Remember Bruce signing almost a new team with some significant successes. However players like Maxwell and Charnley hardly played a game.
  15. enjoyed CB, his pace and enthusiasm, however he is a million miles off Liverpool's starting eleven
  16. 15 million I think it was quoted a few pages back
  17. I don’t know why but I feel that there is a lot more to come too
  18. He will have a figure in mind of what he wants to pay for the ground and see if it matches the figure the present owners want, other than that it will be admin. If the figure is met I think he will run the football down to the level where it will be self sufficient.
  19. This may not be good news for the football side.
  20. Okay but why is it run as a separate company
  21. So they don’t own the ground it needs millions spending on it sold off match day income small fan base not a lot of assets including players will lose most of their players debts piling up Its not looking good even if another party comes in it will at least another five million and then a lot more going forward oh dear
  22. Could be the one legged shithead riding in on his pit pony
