A better punishment/s would be a transfer embargo, or limiting the numbers of the first team squad say 22, or only being able to sign free transfers, or a limit on wages paid per player, or a specified wages budget allocation. Kachunga does not get the protection he thinks he deserves. There is a lot of nudges in the back and shirt pulling in this league. He falls to his knees and refs just wavs play on. He should have the experience to stay on his feet and keep in the game. Instead he shows petulance and tonight violent conduct. He is either stubborn or too stupid to learn his lesson. All of this could be acceptable if he grabbed the occasional goal, but he just doesn’t.

We have acquired some very good young players. Enjoyed the match yesterday. One slight criticism was that there was some show boating in the second half before the game was sealed. We are in a proper game at Derby where we need to be fully focussed and on it.

He is a late starter in the respect of playing first team football. Last year went well, he was happy and signed a new contract. The change in system makes him less effective despite being tried in a few different roles. This year most of his good work is done in less dangerous areas. Clearly the system is not going to change which is causing him some frustration and he thinks he is losing some impetus. It is a shame he has to leave, he is technically very good and an entertainer.

The normally immaculate Lee slightly off the boil, Dempsey very good, Morley Superb, what a ball to the scouse lad. Toal very exciting find, best young defender in a white shirt I have seen for years. Better than Holding.
