Unfortunately, the tactics Southend employed will be in evidence for lots of visiting teams this season. We have to go a goal up in most games otherwise we are in for more frustrating afternoons. That said, from what I've seen, it's a shit league so we should be going a goal up games home and away. I hadn't realised just how big the gap is from championship to league 1

I liked the bit where S.K said we had signed 12 players and we are still under the wage limits set by the embargo. Means we must have done some bloody good negotiating for the players brought in and fleeced Cardiff for Amos. Hopefully they have negotiated bonuses with players too - minimum or no bonuses as the season goes on in return for a heftier promotion bonus
