  1. Whatever you say about the ST at least they got off their arses and tried to do something.
  2. Thought at half time that as we hadn't scored the goals that first half performance deserved we would end up being nervy. That's a familiar story for us but as others have said a win is a win and I was more than delighted to applaud them off at the end. Clough is miles off the finished article but showed 2 moments of brilliance. Should have scored that chance that fell to him after Madine's fresh air kick. Much as Madine is limited I am really willing him to score some kind of goal - think he deserves that.
  3. Great professional performance. Taylor was superb today running Spearing close for MOM.
  4. Bolton still is in Lancashire
  5. He's certainly got something that lad when you put him in front of goal. As someone said earlier must be worth a subs appearance at some point coming on for last 10 if we need a goal.
  6. Boundary changes were administration only. Lancashire is still Lancashire and always will be.
  7. Brilliant....just brilliant. Well done Rochdale!
  8. Bit of a strange rant that. Read this forum for many years before actually joining and posting and as with any forum you get the full range of views. To state that about everyone on here is being himself what he accuses us of being.
  9. Very sad news. I have known Dave on and off for over 30 years. First met him through work at NatWest Bolton and then other Branches including the Lending Centre in Manchester. Of course used to see him regularly at Bolton games both home and away. It's fair to say he was a character and one on his own. He also had a very good sense of humour on occasions. Will certainly be missed. Sleep well.
  10. From what I recall he was a good consistent midfielder for us but when he left Steve Thompson flourished and was twice the player. He seems to have done very well as a youth coach and is highly regarded. Strange move to Wigan though.
  11. Great result Whites. Feeling good!!!!
  12. Absolutely bloody brilliant! 2-0 in your cup final....hahaha
  13. If the money is right a great sign of intent. Sure he could do a job at this level.
  14. Brilliant result Whites and another clean sheet. Considering we couldn't buy a clean sheet last season that's some turnaround. Well done Parky.
  15. Totally agree about Beevers. No fuss just proper defending and reading of the game. Great signing.
  16. I feel a little sorry for Parkinson and I believe he will sort things out given time. The one thing he has learnt is that some players can raise their game for the odd one or two matches but their consistent level is at best this league and possibly the one below. Step forwards at least half our first team starters! I was also taken in by our start and only now are our players reverting to type. Realistically what many posters said before the start, mid table this season would be an achievement with more of the under performers/high earners shown the door at the end of the season. We can then build from there. Here's hoping!
  17. Didn't get involved in the ironic cheering of Taylor and agree that it doesn't help but he was bloody poor. What he should have done was just walk off, accept he didn't play well and move on. The looking back at the crowd did him no favours and will have harmed him in the long run. We keep getting told players are professionals - he should have acted like one.
  18. The Chelsea game sticks in my mind in the 70s when we won 2-1 at Burnden. Probably wasn't that bad but as a young lad I was scared to death. Started in the Lever End and ended up in the Manchester Road Paddock after running across the pitch.
  19. Wolves away was always fun particularly with the heavy handed policing we used to experience. I remember one away game which much have been early 80s - it was the time when away fans were kept behind for what seemed like ages before we were let out. The Police Commander at the game who was a bit of a dick was trying to give us instructions as to what we should do via a loud hailer and every time he tried to make an announcement we all started cheering and making as much noise as possible so he couldn't be heard. Tried 5 or 6 times before he gave up with the whole away contingent pissing their sides at him. Even the ordinary coppers were laughing. One of the funniest moments I remember at an away game.
  20. I'll go with 2-1 but it's heart more than head. For me our build up play is far too slow and we do not hit teams quick enough giving them time to get organised and in position.
  21. Only knew him from his posts on here. RIP Rembrandt and goodnight
  22. Be interesting to see if Moxey starts the next game. For me I thought Parkinson took him off after nearly giving away a penalty for what I thought was a blatant push on their man when he was going nowhere.
  23. Just looking at those highlights again how Mark Davies didn't score is beyond me. Thought the miss looked bad at the game. Seemed to hit at the keepers legs rather than just rolling it either side.
  24. Great win in the end. Bit too much sideways and backwards stuff first half for me. Thought Woolery made a difference with his willing runs stretched them a bit. Great finish from Vela.
