  1. This app thing, was in the car with the eldest daughter when hers went off and gave her a warning of potential exposure. That was it, didn't say where, didn't say when, didn't say for how long, didn't say anything else at all and hasn't said anything since. She'd only been at home and with me at work for 2 days and nowhere else at all, there were no pedestrians about so at a stretch it could have been someone in the car in front? What's someone supposed to do with so little info from the app?
  2. Only need 27 more of them are we're up as champions, piece of piss.
  3. Slightly drifting towards mumsnet territory, tried a new recipe today. Basically cottage cheese, marmite, and porridge oats mixed together with a couple of eggs and baked like a cake. Taste sensation.
  4. Rolled the only superstitious dice I have left and haven't put one of my jinx bets on. Evatt implied it almost came to blows in the dressing room last week, maybe that's been a big factor in the selection.
  5. If he's sold then he might also have bought, have you asked on all the groups etc to see if anyone has his definite address ?
  6. Last night I got a Scafell, a Shoop, a Green Curve Kveik, a What Are The Odds, and the compulsory Katys. The Shoop tasted rank even though it was ok last week so it put me off the rest. Apart from some of the Katy and a bottle of wine that is. Leaves me being able to try the rest watching the game so worked out fine.
  7. Forgot to add as well although you will know this, don't think of them as apprenticeships like we used to know because most aren't. They're in for a year on the lowest level and it doesn't guarantee continuation at the same workplace on the next level. We've had some at work over the past few years (IT related) and only 1 of them started the next level apprenticeship and he packed it in to go to uni, encouraged all the way by us. We had one other who was good and is now doing well somewhere now but the others didn't last the year. Mate who has them in engineering roles says they go through that many it's unbelievable but that might be because of their place as much as the kids. Runshaw do a lot of vocational courses at BTEC level 3 as well as A levels and shit. My eldest daughter didn't want to do A levels and is doing one and has had to do work experience as a big part of the course so there's all sorts of options.
  8. Think some of my eldest's mates who were going to do higher level apprenticeships at BAE got let down this year very late on so I'm not sure what's going on with them. Especially with you living in Chorley check vacancies for apprenticeships at Runshaw, think they do the lower level ones and sort out the placements etc.
  9. In an ideal world. If you make a law that there are exemptions to then you have to sort something out that enables folk to be legally exempt, like the blue badge scheme for example. It's a totally obvious thing to do so I can't get why it wasn't done as part of the whole approach. Apart from incompetence which would completely explain it.
  10. Yup, you've still got to deal with it though and you've no control on them reporting you to xyz or in these times ripping you a new arsehole on social media or review sites.
  11. One of my mate's shops, person without a mask, asked to put one on, refused because said was exempt, asked for exemption card, refused to show one, waited outside for his stuff, and then reported them to the council. Half hour later someone from HSE/council rang up questioning covid policies in store. It's law to wear a mask in shops but if you look into it anyone can say they are exempt AND the government guidance is that people saying they are exempt shouldn't be routinely asked for proof of exemption (which doesn't actually exist because you decide yourself). So in reality it's law but only if you choose to follow it. Load of shit.
  12. Used to know the lass who runs it and her sister when we were younger, both nice girls back then. Did think about trying to cop off with one of em once, could have been a pie millionaire if I'd gone through with it. They are pie millionaires by now you reckon ?
  13. If you had to recommend a few for tonight that could be bought from any of the local supermarkets what would it be? I could do with trying summat different before pretending to have a break again.
  14. Did see that the UK dogging community looked to be making an effort, face masks and gloves being worn. Almost bought a tear to my (japs) eye. Ahem.
  15. Students are in for around 9.25k for fees and a year contract for digs they can't get out of for around 5k. They would have never gone in if the cash till wasn't ringing.
  16. Didn't explore the links but black postboxes? Will that not put anyone wearing a niqab and standing responsibly in a socially distanced queue at massive risk of a serious paper cut injury?
  17. Purely anecdotal this but spoke to my lad before who started uni this time. He's self isolating because he couldn't smell at weekend and because folk he was dicking about with in the first week have tested positive. He seems fine but a good percentage of the others are not well at all so maybe it is hitting younger folk as well now.
  18. Apparently you can pretend you're doing summat called Stoptober and drink whatever you want to tonight. It's like Pancake Tuesday, Halloween etc
  19. They won't have just caught it, the school will have had a report of a positive case in the bubble but not tell anyone until they go in the following day - is a day lag not enough ?
  20. Niece has been told not to go into school along with the rest of her year, presume that's for 10 days or 2 weeks or whatever shite it is these days. Why do they not just let them all go in and send a 6 man squad of testers to the school, they test all the year and then send them home, day/2 days later they all get their results and those who are clear crack on? Too simplistic, too expensive, have I missed summat ?
  21. Know of a driving instructor in Bolton who has contacted their clients to let them know they are positive, whether they've passed it to clients or a client passed it to them we will never know. Know that unis are pissing in the wind but trying their best, they've locked down halls in Manchester for example but there were plenty who visited those halls the first few weekends but would never get track and traced. Also know some places in Manny seem to just be letting people in with no checking at all, under agers who are using real (but not their ID) not even getting checked. Also know I never wore a mask when I went to the 'luminations on Saturday while walking down from Bispham on the lights side and it was outside and socially distanced but coming back up on the other side for a spell was fucking ridiculous. No distancing and big throngs of people with no masks on, walked in the road and put mine on while getting through that bit after not bothering at first so I'm as bad as them really. Why the fuck we went to lights yet again is even more mind boggling than the whole Covid thing.
