  1. His goals at the start of the season seemed to all come from balls whipped early into the box, low and between CBs and keeper. We don't seem to do that anymore. He's been frustrating at times, esp with first touch, but I've a feeling (hope?) there's more to come from Vic. Far more worried about Dion. I'm probably forgetting some good performances, but hasn't seemed the same since the Pompey miss.

    Playoffs

it would have had to be last 6 to keep it in our hands.
  3. Remember Orient at home when we were 3-0 up and looking world beaters. There was a break in play and Ritchie Wellens got into his players and changed the system. We ended up clinging onto a 3-2. Plenty other examples of opposition managers making changes mid-game to change the flow. Can't remember one time Evatt's done that this season. And that's Ritchie fucking Wellens.

    Pompey (H)

I remember seeing the line-ups pre Oxford home game. I looked at their formation against ours and thought they'd have pockets all over the place to exploit gaps in our set up. We dicked em five nowt. Moral of the story: I know fuck all about formations.
  5. Great result. If we played like Derby every week we'd rightly get a fuckin slating. They were dire.
  6. Ref seems to be giving everything Derby's way.

    Injuries

you've spotted the deliberate error. it's only maffs.
  8. Down with woke corporations that make you work. Stand up for moaning down the pub. And for your childrens' right to moan down the pub. And your childrens' children. Up the revolution gathering brothers.
  9. Couple of things stand out from that video. First, what a weak pen to give in that situation. Second, that grey haired bloke who knocked over the linesman ... wtf was that two-handed 'punch'.
  10. This is our run at the end of that season. Went 13 unbeaten before the Bradford loss then won last five. 11. Just checked ... that's our longest winning run to end a season. Won the last 4 on 5 separate occasions, but only time we've won last five. (so far 😁)
  12. too windy for Maghoma then
  13. couple of broken legs as a kid didn't help. would have been a superstar.
  14. Legend has it Arsenal got our directors pissed to negotiate a lower fee. Tossers. And they never got properly promoted in the first place.
  15. Spoilsport. That's New Brighton Tower out then. (biggest ground in England at the time)

    Good Omens

Might as well be optimistic as long as we can 😁 This is coming from someone who's been convinced we've lost games because I've had the wrong socks on ... but I don't think anything in this thread will have an adverse effect on our chances. ... as long as I don't fuck up again with the socks.
  17. I think someone's editing all my posts. They're fucking brilliant when I first post them.

Portsmouth only need 8 points and we can't catch them. 100% need them to beat Derby tomorrow. We're not catching them. (they can also beat Barnsley and Wigan for us while they're at it)

    Good Omens

You seem to be suggesting I'm selectively using stats. You got me. There's a bit of a clue in the OP. I like your Pompey - Derby scenario, happily go with that. (15 in total, we've won 10, drawn 2. The 3 losses came when we were outside the top 8, 2 of them when we were bottom half)

front two were bang on it today. Even with all the injuries, most teams would love to have our (remaining) options up front.

    Good Omens

It's still on, so a couple more good omens for the run in. Bristol Rovers Missed the game last year due to a family do. We won. Reluctantly missing Saturday's game due to a family do. It's nailed on. Portsmouth We've only ever played the league leaders at home in the third tier 3 times when we've been in the top four. We've won all three.

we've won our last three at Bristol Rovers ...

  24. correct. Not beat them in 10 games since the 5-1 in 2014. Lost the last seven. Wish I'd picked a different run, bit depressing this one. Full list Chelsea - 19 games Middlesbrough - 11 Leeds - 10 Man U - 9 Wigan - 8 Sheff Wed - 7 Brentford - 7
