  1. ''I think most people knew the answer, but we were all wondering where the fuck he was going with the question', was your exact quote. Most people did NOT know the answer as you knew well. Why would they? The questioner, also as you know, stopped to ask whether anyone in the room knew. 'Can anyone tell me who funded the building of the Reebok', the questioner asked. The room was silent, including you. So I put it to you that you knew full well that the audience didn't know but decided to invent something to obfuscate and mislead. As for the description 'tedious cnut' that was your expression, repeated by me, to highlight and lampoon the way in which you seem to take it upon yourself to describe someone who brings forward facts that you don't like. In this particular case it was used not to describe the questioner but to remind you of your conduct, but maybe that was too subtle for you.
  2. I don't wish to be personal but lets just say that Traf seems to me to be an accomplished practitioner of terminological inexactitudes with a distaste for facts that don't fit in with his predispositions.
  3. In an article published in the Bolton News in August 2018, Mark Iles claimed in reference to the move from Burnden Park in 1997, 'a new stadium was sought and funded by former chairman Gordon Hargreaves'. The correctness of this statement was brought into question by a Lancaster Whites member at its meeting with Emma Beaugeard and Keith Hill this week. The member began by first referring to the formation of the Lancaster Whites in 1997, the first trip being to Carrow Road, Norwich, who EB is said to support. He went on to say that some of the founder members were present (one of them sitting at the same table as Traf). He then referred to the transformational effect of John McGinlay in his five years at the club ending shortly after the move to the Reebok, described at the time as the best stadium in Europe for its size. McGinlay was not at the meeting for some reason but the underlying fact of the matter was that McGinlay had not just been at the heart of the Club's successes on the pitch, these successes had had a transformational effect on the club's financial prospects and income reflected in season ticket and corporate sales at the new stadium. Hospitality boxes, for example, were sold and paid for three years in advance. But the main source of finance for the Reebok was borrowing and the borrowing did not diminish, it grew and grew until Eddie Davies paid it off in 2009 stepping down shortly afterwards as a director of Burnden Leisure whilst continuing to finance the club and remaining a director of the club for another two years. ED spent in excess of £190m on BWFC over 19 years the last payment being £5m two or three days before he died on 11 September 2018.
  4. Traf isn't going to say, is he? Lets start the new thread then.
  5. Owen Oyston tried something like that but without spending £250m. Didn't seem to end up too well as I recall.
  6. Everybody knows according to Traf. There are more than a few intelligent folk in Lancaster Whites. I've known some for twenty years, one for 57 years but I don't think there are many that would claim to equal the knowledge of BWFC finance of Monday's questioner. Maybe the question should be raised on a separate thred. Traf could kick it off with his explanation. And how about another thred on the trial of the Unibol Four?. 'What can you do with these people?' implored Simon Nightingale in his victim statement. Are the poor man's pleas to go unanswered?
  7. Be careful what you ask about, Victor. The WW thought police could well be after you next with their menacing and intimidatory threats.
  8. Thank you for the polite response. Its much appreciated
  9. New owners, yes. Pleased about that but have you thought about whether the £5m Eddie stumped up to pay off Blumarble, three days before he died, has been repaid or whether its still propping up FV?
  10. ' most people knew the answer', did they, including you? So when the questioner stopped to ask if anyone in the room knew how the building of the Reebok had been funded, why didn't you answer? Why did nobody answer? And why, in an article published in the BN in August 2018 when Ken Anderson was trying to get Eddie Davies to stump up another £5m to pay off Blumarble, did Marc Iles claim that Gordon Hargreaves had funded the Reebok? And one other thing, why was that person's follow-up question the ONLY question that was applauded on the night?
  11. Close. Some tedious cnut sitting in the seat next to him.
  12. How is it that only one person at Lancaster White's meeting on Monday knew how the building of the Reebok was financed.
  13. Venue and time ain't obvious. Needs to be agreed with my mate Tyson
  14. No nothing as important as that. Just a chairman claiming that Dean Holdsworth spent a million quid in fees before buying half the club for 50P, hadn't a clue about the club's financial outgoings and a board member claiming that Michael James was unfit to be anywhere near having a financial interest in BWFC. And that's before we even start on governance issues.
  15. Correct but let's be honest this is really about the irrelevant ST trying to make itself relevant. Its up to FV to run the show and to make commercial decisions. If they can improve the matchday experience and make it commercially viable, FV should just get on with it. I don't see any reason why it couldn't be viable. The fixed costs are there whether its used or not but I wouldn't be relying on any of the Trust board as partners or business advisors and I wouldn't expect FV to.
  16. I hope you don't use that kind of language in front of your children.
  17. This helps too, from guess who? "After recent discussions with the new owners, it has been agreed that the FanZone is to return as a partnership between the club and BWFCST. Arrangements are ongoing and there will be further announcements as availability of facilities are confirmed. What we can report is that the first FanZone of this season will run in the Premier Suite on Saturday 19 October ’19 for the Rochdale home fixture. Further details will be announced nearer the time, but we would like to obtain supporters views on what you are all looking for in the new FanZone. In order to make the pre-match experience as enjoyable as possible, could you please take part in this short survey and let us have your preferences. You can also add any other thoughts you may have in the comments section at the end of the survey. Thank you so much and we look forward to seeing you all on the 19 October. COYW! 18. Did you actually read the first post on the thread?
  19. I think you'll find that's for another thread, if not a book. The purpose of this thread is to pay homage to that fine body of men and women that is the Bolton Wanderers Supporters Trust.
  20. Nah, right word, wrong spelling.
  21. I think it was Thomas Gray that wrote 'ignorance is bliss'. Enjoy.
  22. I think you'll find that was spelling rather than grammar but I've corrected it now.
  23. Don't kid yourself. There never were many on here who were arsed about anything unless it fed into their ill-considered prejudices.
