  1. It really wasn't as bad as some are making out for me. His issue was trying to side foot it when he's got to just lash his left at it, it's come at him quick though and caught him just as he's stepping, looks a bit awkward but there's plenty worse misses out there.
  2. In a similar vein, has anyone heard any reviews of Conway and Khumbeni at Fylde?
  3. He was the one that did Toal at Wembley with 10 minutes to go, purely out of petulant frustration.
  4. Season was essentially over 4 plays in, and was officially over when they lost back to back vs bad Chargers and Vegas teams. Now it's just getting ugly.
  5. I'd imagine because he's a good professional and seems an intelligent bloke that's had a very long and successful career at the top level of the football league. Just because his legs have finally gone at the age of 37 doesn't suddenly eradicate any of that from his career, I think he'd be an asset in that sort of role.
  6. Would have been in real trouble if the Jets had taken the opportunity last night. Unfortunately, the offence is a disgrace.
  7. If I remember correctly, teams that are chosen to play overseas can choose how they would like to schedule it with their bye week, most opt to take the bye after the game I believe.
  8. Is it any different from a team travelling from East Coast to West Coast for an away game? They'll have to get used to it for when there's inevitably a permanent team here.
  9. I absolutely love the Ryder Cup, pinnacle of sport.
  10. A positive this for me, gives our lot in particular a chance to reset. Finally get rid of these refs who have built these characters and brands. Focus on the next lot integrating themselves better with the technology, pay them better but as a way to entice actual former players to the role rather than failed sunday leaguers with a superiority complex.
  11. I think what doesn't help for Allen is that the Jets Defence just matches up really well with the Bills, seem to really have his number, so it'll always look disproportionately worse when the game goes bad against them rather than others.
  12. It is absolutely Evatt, the article references the blackmail court case he was involved in. He had a 20 odd year career and played Premier League football, he'll be a millionaire a couple of times over. Plus, I don't think it's suggesting these bets were placed in a lump sum, or even over a short period of time.
  13. I have to imagine they didn't pursue it because the case itself was already incredibly complex, with the intertwining blackmail case involving two former players. FA were probably much happier seeing the back of the whole thing with a court mandated anonymity order and hoped it would just go away, rather than try to navigate that situation legally.
  14. Be prepared for this story to do the rounds again...
  15. Colwill and Stones is comfortably our best partnership when everyone is fit these days. Then you have Guehi, Tomori, White, Dunk and even someone like Konsa (who is better and more deserving of a call up and minutes than Maguire), who have all had good or great games against top tier domestic sides over the last couple years. The biggest debate is whether Maguire is even a capable footballer any more, never mind against the better European sides.
  16. Not in the way I imagine you were meaning, yet here we are, and I'm gunna blame you because I have no one else to vent at.
  17. Very Jets of us. We look like a Superbowl calibre team that again, that is just going to be short of even an average QB. Great win but that sort of game isn't sustainable. Someone give Brady a call.
  18. I was just going to wait and watch the Jets game in the morning but I already know I won't be able to hack it, gunna have to watch it live. It'll be a great game for a neutral but I won't be able to appreciate a single minute. Not used to this level of expectation.
  19. Haaland for me and it shouldn't even be particularly close.
  20. I've definitely noticed myself getting a bit more choked up at films as I've got older, but that sort of father son dynamic in movies has always got me good. Like the scene in Fresh Prince of Bel Air where Will's dad leaves and he has the rant to Uncle Phil, floods every single time, or weirdly the final scene of Forest Gump when he puts his lad on the school bus. Another one that got me that I wasn't expecting though was the other night, watched The Electrical Life of Louis Wain on Netflix thinking it was a bit whacky and light hearted and it sort of descends from that to a proper depressing spiral. Then I found out it was a biopic just to make it better.
  21. It's getting to the point now that you have to start questioning whether Evatt/Markham have an insane ability to scout RWBs or if the system we use just heavily favours creating to the right side of the formation. It seems somewhat unlikely that we have had Fossey, Bradley and now JDC all be our most important creative outlets in the final 3rd purely by chance of them being that good. When you sprinkle in that Jones, Kioso and even Hickman and Isgrove have looked capable and influential at times operating in that role, it starts to become quite clear that the system is heavily weighted on the right side being key to how we play. Makes you wonder why more oppositions haven't keyed into that more, and I wonder if it's a conscious thing from us or just a subconscious bias by our midfield and defence to favour playing that way as the majority are right footed?
  22. You can wait for a QB usually, I get liking one in particular but the drop off from the best to the rest is much smaller compared to other positions in Fantasy. Prioritise an RB and WR in the first two rounds at least then if Allen is there for you in the 3rd it isn't the worst pick. But if you aren't too certain then the main player board doesn't steer you too far wrong, one thing I'd suggest keeping an eye on is the bye weeks that your players are on, try not stacking too many all on the same week and you should be fine enough.
  23. Thing with Evatt is, this is the sort of stuff the owners are going to have to deal with from time to time. Either from issues he's caused for himself in the past like this indiscretion or the gambling stuff, or the possibility of him reverting to type and getting himself in some bother again. Let's hope this blows over for him again, but you have to feel this is going to get blown up this time around given the size of the club compared to Barrow and the added media/rival attention.
  24. I was under the assumption he went for the customary £4m that we get.
