  1. My mistake there’s another Zcharles not Dion and not on the subs bench either so strike my first message. 🤨
  2. Both Dion and Eoin starting tonight then. Thought Dion might get some minutes but surprised to see him starting. Let’s hope he’s fully fit and this should give him a good run out before Friday if he does ok. Watching the game live on BBC 3 instead of a boring England game v Belgium.
  3. Pompey have been the only relatively consistent performers all season so it’s unlikely they’re suddenly going to fall over now. There’s realistically one automatic spot to aim at and we’ve as good a chance as any of getting it. It’s down to us to do our job and trust the others to not do theirs.

Well let’s hope none of this is true because if it is it probably won't just be those two players who are affected by the atmosphere it can create. Both are key players in our final few games and having them back would be a massive boost.
  5. Let’s just hope Dion gets some minutes with NI tonight and is fit to come into the squad on Friday? 🙂

Let’s hope not, friction in the camp is just what we don’t need right now.
  7. Nobody on here knows anything about values, costs or anything else so why don’t we just leave it to management to sort it? They certainly seem to be doing a pretty good job to me so I’m happy to leave it at that and just watch the football. 🙂
  8. And you may well still be on the money White, that 4 point cushion plus better goal difference is still a big lead to overcome. It may of course not be Derby who get third the way Posh are doing as they might pinch it if we slip up. With Derbys injury and suspension situation they could well struggle but there’s still Posh and the Tykes to worry about as well. We can do this but we’re going to have to be a lot sharper than we’ve been recently. Unlike you though I’m confident we will. 🙂
  9. To be fair we have 3 or 4 at least who we could expect a decent fee for if we sold them like George, Toal, Santos and Dion and even Johnson once he’s fit again. We even reportedly got a potential bid on Victor so there is clearly value in the side and it wouldn’t surprise me if young Will Forrester turned out to be a good one too. It takes time and I personally think we’re doing ok to date. Getting into the Championship is the key which just in itself would raise the value of our players if they do well there.
  10. Stop exaggerating Dave. 50p, never. 🤣
  11. Agree Lusty and if we did get promotion all we’d have to do is survive, which I actually believe we’d do with what we have now. We might need a few “older heads” with experience but I think the sustainable route of using young players and developing them is the right way, short of some new mega bucks owner coming in. We just need to get there first and then we can look ahead.

The Dion situation is certainly a puzzle and it’s probably good that he’s gone with the N Ireland squad to keep him in game mode, even if he doesn’t play and hopefully is all the time getting fitter and overcoming his injury. It would be great to see him on the bench for the Scotland game and even better if he was fit enough to come on for a cameo at the end to help, prepare him for Stevenage where the win is a must if were to have any serious hope of overtaking Derby.
  13. Eh? You really are a prize tit. Gayle scored 3 goals before injury so what’s your point?
  14. Looks like Mendez Lang has done his hammy so without both him and Gayle you can see them possibly imploding just as we hopefully welcome our walking wounded back? Today just gets bette and better. 😁
  15. You would think so Dave but I remember some of our games against the likes of Bury and Chesterfield fully expecting to win and the nerves just grow and grow the longer it goes without a goal going in. Funny things happen at this time of year so let’s hope they do to Derby? 🙂
  16. Well as optimistic as I am I think if Derby win this we can forget about the top two. Whatever IE said about last week not being season defining I think it definitely was and sadly today will prove it. Anyway I’m a Northampton fan today so come on you cobblers and get the job done.
  17. Well whatever he meant, if a club of our size and stature can’t make ends meet then there’s not much hope for the rest.
  18. The problem is that bigger clubs rarely pay big fees for L1 and L2 players, unproven at a higher level unless they’re obviously exceptional, which very few are. You’re much more likely to get a transformational fee for the likes of George and Rico if you’re n the Championship and they’ve proved themselves against better players. That for me is why it’s essential we get up this year because otherwise I fear we’ll lose our better players for peanuts as we nearly did with George previously.
  19. Yes, it was a disaster and whilst hypothetical I believe cost us an FA Cup, or at least a Wembley appearance and to think that that scumbag is still playing today. Makes my blood boil. 🤨
  20. Have to agree on Forrester, always seems to be the one who gets his head to the ball defensively and gets the important tackles in. Personally I’d play him instead of Jones anyway against Stevenage and let Gething get back to normal after his long trip.
  21. Exactly this, to listen to some on here you’d think Derby are a brilliant team but they’re not as we found out on Saturday but they have scraped fairly fortunate wins, as against us and also their previous game against Reading courtesy of a dipstick ref. Their next 3 aren’t easy and if they come out of those with better than 7 points then I’ll concede it may be too late but even then whilst the last two might on paper look easy nerves kick in, as we’ve seen in the past. The crowd expectation increases and so does the pressure on the team as the clock ticks down. No way is it over yet and we can still do this. We need Northampton to get a result to set it up and if the tangerines have a good day they’re capable of beating anyone and also they need the points as much as Derby, so anything can still happen yet. We just need to stay positive and do our own jobs and if we do that we can get there.
  22. Yes huge potential. I worked in Aston (villa territory) for a number of years and the untapped support is huge and if they did eventually get it right they’d be at least as big as Villa crowd wise but without the history of course. Yet again it depends on what you consider makes a “Big” club?
  23. 👍 good shout and also Coventry maybe?
  24. You’d have to include Wolves, West Brom, Ipswich and Sheffield United in that at least and all probably above ourselves. Given their potential I’d also have to have Brum above us as well. These days it’s all about gate size I’m afraid and not history.
