  1. Not while we're in the EU that's for sure Cameron has played a blinder IMO on this issue, but I suppose he knew that if he didn't he'd be bringing the brexit one step closer
  2. Has happened to me and (cliche alert) worked out great Get cracking asap to find something else
  3. Its a trap a lot of fighters fall into, thinking they'll have a huge strength advantage when their opponent moves up. Rarely the case at the higher weights IMO and froch isn't a big super middle. Still, he's bigger and better than the guys GGG has been beating. Tasty as fuck, but given froch is getting on and fighting infrequently I think GGG would get to him eventually. His precision is incredible.
  4. In short yes it is, by holding govt spending down, and waiting for inflation and economic growth to increase the tax take We are projected to be taking in more than we spend in this parliament (ie running a surplus). We ran a surplus every year from about 1950 to the 70s. It will take a fair while to pay off the overall debt though ha When people speak of austerity the truth is that spending hasn't gone down (at all I don't think... Marginally at best). In real terms it is now less then it was. But in actual £s we are spending just as much as we were under labour.
  5. Lane discipline is woeful in this country, drives me fucking mad
  6. Didn't he just get a good old payout from the phone hackers? I hope so, and I believe him when he says it messed with his head too, how private conversations were ending up in the press.
  7. You're making the same mistake Traf. I'm not saying it suggests he did it. What I am saying is that it would prick the Police's ears that her stepfather has a recent conviction for dishonesty. He'd already be their assumed prime suspect. If anybody thinks this isn't the case, fair play to you, but I'm fairly certain it is.
  8. Why, I wouldn't ever suggest that somebody I don't know is guilty in a case I know nothing about. You suggested it was the preserve of 'gormless idiots on the internet' but I'll guarantee the police would think along those lines too when starting their enquiries in a missing child case. A Stepfather with a recent fraud conviction is going to be under the microscope straight away. That's just the way it is.
  9. It's fair to say stepfathers and other male associates of families in these situations have a 'track record' isn't it And that the police often put them up in front of the cameras to evaluate their reactions And this guy had previous convictions (fraud I think) Don't think it was quite so outlandish a thing to suggest and loads of people would have thought the same
  10. With that team, it was nailed on that we had won as soon as Branagan saved that penalty. I was absolutely bladdered tbf in the cheap seats (benches) down behind the goal, there's nowt like being 2 down in no time and facing a penalty to sober you up though Shame Rioch effectively resigned that day, if I remember right
  11. Thing is, figures get thrown around and it can be hard to put them in context 12bn is a lot. But do you know how much more we spend than we raise at the moment? Best part of 100bn. Do you really think we can just spend money we don't have, without consequence? If we hadn't racked up so much debt we'd have 65bn more to spend, instead of paying that much in interest on our loans Fwiw focusing on benefits is a shame as genuinely needy people will suffer. I think more focus should be turned onto pensions, and tax avoidance. But if we don't out our house in order soon 12bn of cuts will be a picnic.
  12. Used to drink in a pub in Farnworth on a Friday night, years ago this, mainly because of the outrageously hot barmaids. We were just 16/17 so no chance like, but it added to the fun Got to know a couple of older lads in there, one of them was boyfriend of one of the barmaids Anyway, turned up one night and he's sneaking around the place, peering in through cracks in the curtains, dressed in fucking combat fatigues and balaclava, 'keeping an eye on her' Thought it was a bit much tbf and sounds even weirder now ... but it was Farnworth
  13. Wouldn't spend hundreds on an old boiler like that. Could be hundreds more in a few months. Plus, in my experience, they fix one thing and realise another part is bust too. (p.s. can't speak highly enough of British Gas cover, £15 a month and they've virtually ripped out and replaced the entirety of my shitheap of a boiler over last couple of years and always come round the very next day) For an install though find a local plumber Worcester Bosch are best boilers I'm told
  14. Doing it on a working day would be much more effective; that couldn't be tolerated for long.
