Guest Phoenix City
Finally I have access to this board, although I registered days ago. Skopje has a lot of historical, cultural and religious monuments and there are plenty of places to visit, but it would be helpful to know what exactly you are interested in, how much time you have for sightseeing, do you mind going somewhere by taxi or you are interested just in places in walking distance? Cheers!

Smiffs
After spending huge amounts of money visiting places I would never normally go to, I reaslied that I hadn't actually seen any of theses places and that one strip club /Irish var looks just like the others. But in Prague, I actually went for a walk one morning whilst the rest started throwing ale down their necks again, and thought 'what a lovely place, the architecture, the people, the history; I should do this more'. I then bumped into the lads and spent another 24 hours boozing in the same bars we'd spent the prvious 72.

Guest Phoenix City
I would reccomend the following: -Fortress Kale http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/mk/b...lavejkov%29.jpg -Church Sveti Spas (really close to the fortress) http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/mk/9/94/SvSpas1.jpg -Old Bazaar (Stara Charshija in Macedonian) http://www.skopskacarsija.org.mk/images/st...ijaPanorama.jpg -The Old Railway Station (before the earthquake in 1963 the biggest on the Balkans, today a City Museum) http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/mk/f/f7/MGS-ip.png They are all in walking distance and pretty close to the main square Makedonija. It's complicated to give directions here, so ask any of the Macedonians hanging around with you about these places and I'm sure they'll give you concise directions. You shouldn't have any problems in finding them. P.S. There are plenty of them, but for others you would have to get a taxi because they aren't close enough to the center for walking.
