jayjayoghani
May get slaughtered for saying this but TBH, I wanted the Germans to go through. Anyway, when the 4 mins injury time board went up, Clive Tyldesley announces... "4 mins for Portugal to dig an escape tunnel". Highly suspicious/unfortunate metaphor I thought ::::::
Burndens Bogs
May get slaughtered for saying this but TBH, I wanted the Germans to go through. So did i. Not reet keen on them Scrotugese - just sardine eating Spaniards imo.Germans however went right up in my estimations during our Munich trip - and i'd love to return to Germany and have a better look around. Oh and Ronaldo's a tvvat.
magic legs
The Germans get a bad press from the braindead redtops. I've had a cracking time every time I have been over there and you can have a laugh with the locals.

I've had a cracking time every time I have been over there and you can have a laugh with the locals. Having only been to Munich i can only judge Germany it on my experiences there, but what impressed me was the infrastructure , everyone seems to take pride in their jobs - the result being it makes the place work. I also thought they were great hosts, and they were gracious even though they didn't get the result they expected would have liked. Also, after the 06 World Cup no-one i met who actually went, had nothing but praise for the place or people. wovlad
Like Burnden Bogs,Munich was my first visit to Germany. Infrastructure superb, trams that seem to run all night & on time. Trains that ran on time & you could get a seat. People really friendly, which was summed up on arrival at Hauptmanplien station. I could'nt find the right exit, an old bloke not content with giving me directions, escorted me onto a tram & to my hotel. He would'nt even let me pay for his ticket, he calmy got off the tram walked to the opposite platform & went back to Hauptmanplien When my only gripe is that we paid ?4 a pint in the Sports Bar for it to be served in a plastic glass. You know you've not done to badly.
Moderators Carlos Posted June 20, 2008 Moderators Share Posted June 20, 2008 I've been to erm, Dusseldorf, Hannover, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Karlsruhe, Nuremburg and Munich. None of the other places are much like Munich. Frankfurt was great during the WC but when I went back last year, it's was a bit of a shithole with jobless pisscans on the streets etc.

Do you mean that they drink in bars rather than in public parks? (that gag is dedicated to the memory of HL who doesn't seem to come on here anymore.)
