Site Supporter MickyD Posted April 24, 2009 Site Supporter Share Posted April 24, 2009 I'm also sure that no away fans were given tickets for the seated Lever End. They used to get a section of the Burnden Stand nearest the Embankment.
C86
Trust me, ALL WRONG. DOUBLE FACT etc. Away teams where given seats, United, Liverpool, Everton etc took all the bottom section all the way across, trust me I sat second row on the next block up and the blokes in the row below where always rowing (verbal) with them. I can see it now, 3-0 to us and not one of the fuckers tunred round, eyes and head front. I remember when we beat Munichs 3-0, the owd fella said we are leaving 15 mins early, he said, "it may get silly", no shit, I was 11 Spoke to th eowd fella tonight and rememeber it well. We stayed in the Lever end seats for the first two seasons then went in't Manny Road seats. Away seats went into the Burnden Stand later in the 80's. Mounts Kipper
Just watched the game and it reaffirmed my opinion of Frank Worthington every thing he did was class the man was a pure silk footballer, how in god's name after scoring 25 goals and a beautiful goal as that infront of the England manager he did not get a call up is unbelievable, it just goes to show the anti bolton bias was even worse then than it is now, Frank Worthington was the real deal a truly class footballer. I had season tickets in the Lever End - no away fans in there.
Moderators Casino Posted April 24, 2009 Moderators Share Posted April 24, 2009 i thought the front rows were empty cos youd get rained on and were lower than pitch level other than that, a cracking view
YATESY
Just watched it. What a fluid system we played. Big Sam seemed to stay upfront after a corner / free kick for ages, Whatmore and Worthington on the edge of our own area defending, Morgan never moving more than 2 metres in from the touch line, more like 4-2-4. Those were the days.

Mounts Kipper
After much toing and froing with my sky plus I got a 1 second glance of myself in 1979 in the paddock near the away fans, made my day has that.
YATESY
and then, of course, we promptly went down faster than NoBalls on Kevin Davies Would be interesting to know if he is in to that sort of thing, always thought he was more Justin Fashanu's cup of tea - with a trophy wife in tow to cover his tracks
