Now I know this has been discussed countless times in the past but there hasn't been any for while so here goes....

Looking for a new 32" TV.

Thinking of either the Samsung LE32B650 or the Sony KDL-32W5500?

Not a great deal difference in price and they are of a similar spec.

Also see that LG have one that is similar - LG32LH5000.

It'll be mainly used for watching freeview and also the odd game on the PS3 but hopefully I'll upgrade from peasant status soon and get Sky HD.

Also is that 100Hz motionplus thing any good?

Any advice from the experts (Homer,etc..) on which one to go for will be appreciated.

Cheers!

id always buy a samsung over a sony, better pic in my experience.

but i recommend you nip down to currys/comet and compare the pictures.

but dont listen to the morons opinion, they know nothing. though do ask to see different sources. but make sure you testing on crappy SD channels as well as HD. and then ask to see bluray and lookout for jitter, (ie frames skipping or jerkyness.)

for SMOOTH playback of bluray content, lookout for 1080p24 support. i *think motionplus is a way of doing this without actually supporting it properly. ie 24 fps does not go into 100hz.

imo the best displays can do 24/48/72/120 hz without any fancy gimmicks.

pick a couple you like then buy online.

my toshiba is beyond my wildest dreams picture wise

i've seen HD on other models that doesn't come close to my SD pic

if you can find a 32" Toshiba regza competitively priced, go for it

and mine came from sound and vision - about 200 less than comet wanted

Toshiba has produced a number of exceptional television displays over the years and their 2009 range of LCD TVs are set to be just as brilliant. So without further ado, let?s move onto our review of the Toshiba 32RV635DB, an entry level 1080p LCD television model which does not feature true 24p support.

I wouldn't buy another Samsung. The pictures on LG, Toshiba and Sony all look better to me.

Plus it insists there's 2 SCART sockets in use when no fucker uses SCART any more. You can't just select HDMI but have to cycle through all available inputs. Fucking annoying.
