Revelation this weekend was I watched the latest Bladerunner - amazing! Loved it, and I’ve always hated the original. Finally watched Adventureland - really enjoy it as well, but I’m a sucker for 80s coming of age films; if you haven’t seen the Way Way Back, please do. Bit of a shame. Ang Lee's 'the Ice Storm' is a mad Adventureland type film. but its about swingers in the 70s. pretty stark though. i remember Lymelyfe (prod. scorsese) ; with mcauley culkin's brothers in ; were pretty similar to that.. both originally books, but i've not read them.. Great cast, fantastic sets and nostalgia of the late 60's, but peel that back and the actual story is dull and piss weak. Not even close to Tarantino finest work.
