Yep, they had the Royal Marines band on the pitch before the start of the game and the big annual lifeline draws done by Nat and that annoying bugger who used to act as MC while getting dog's abuse from the Manny Road North. paulhanley
I've been trying to post our 87/88 games in sequence but I'm jumping forward to April just for one game. This is our 6-0 win over Newport who by that time were on the brink of going bust and playing the youth team. It was a nervy time as it was very touch and go as to whether we'd get automatic promotion. This win helped but Bolton Wanderers being Bolton Wanderers we were all anxious that we'd cock this one up. Anyway - a John Thomas hat-trick helped matters. The Bolton Wanderers Remembrance Group are doing a live interview with him on Saturday so this is for them in case they want to reference a hat-trick of his. I will get back in sequence soon. As I've said before there's a gap between Easy Video stopped filming and Roadrunner started. Six league games weren't filmed: Peterborough 0 Bolton 4; Bolton 1 Hereford 0; Stockport 1 Bolton 2; Crewe 2 Bolton 1; Wolves 4 Bolton 0 and Bolton 2 Tranmere 0. Judging by the quality of this video Roadrunner were still finding their way in their new venture in April that season. Dear me! blackleywhite
Funny how your memory plays tricks on you I was convinced we were 6 nil up at half time then didn't score in the second half. Ah well.

Ah well. My memory is that you're not a million miles away. Those two second half goals were scored quite soon after half-time and it stayed 6-0 for about 35 mins. Duck Egg
Nearly all set pieces too. Apart from the elderly Paul Bradshaw in nets, was the rest of their team all juniors? Be interesting to know if any of them went on to make a career in football. Theres a very good documentary about what happened to Newport that was on iplayer. It's definitely worth a watch if you can find it.

Bradshaw had been the Wolves goalie for years. Here's there late season results that year. Whacked everywhere for weeks on end. Other than a very strange late win at Darlington. This is the line up from that season's Rothmans , strangely for the last 5 games of their season it does not list a Number 3 for them. Very rare for Rothmans to make such an error , anyway the team . 1) Paul Bradshaw 2) David Abbruzzese 3) Missing in Action 4) Kevin Hamer 5) Richard Jones 6) Steve Tupling 7) Glynne Millett 8 Andy Thackeray 9) Richard Thompson 10) Robbie Taylor 11) Norman Parselle. Looking at the Web , barring Bradshaw , a couple played on in the lower league and the rest went to non - League

Yes probably the same but he seemed to make a good job of riling up the Bolton fans most Saturday home games!

Johnnyrotten
Just been watching this for no reason - not very original I know but worth 5 minutes of anyone's time. David Lee and McGinlay absolutely top drawer. And I hadnt noticed the Redknapp x-rated foul on Lee near the end, could have injured him badly and looked like he meant it. Still raises the hairs on the back of the neck. Fuck me - even off those highlights can you imagine what VAR would have done to ruin the entire night?
