BoltonBoy80
Fucking brilliant! Hark now hear the burnden sing! what a place that was! felt like a family death when the old place was demolished these videos just bring back the memories what I would do to stand on the burnden terrace again to walk down the back of the lever end To queue at the ticket office to nip into the club shop for a metal badge to see Dave higson interviewing florence Brandwood outside the ground To sing land of hope and glory, home of Bolton fc

Yet we still get the vacuous 'White army'....

Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted May 20, 2019 Site Supporter Share Posted May 20, 2019 (edited) That's the one Micky. That Cardiff game. Was hoping it would come up. I know I missed one goal whilst nipping off for a wazz. It was one of only a few times I sat in the lever end. Will have been one of those leaping up and down in the shade of the roof. darwen_white
Land of hope and glory Home of Bolton FC, (not Leeds)* We will follow the Wanderers, on to victory. *It always baffled me why a few shouted "Not Leeds", but it caught on.

paulhanley
I'm on a roll with 5-0 home wins. Yesterday Cardiff, today Carlisle. The Fourth Division season! A comprehensive win in which Nicky Brookman stars, there's a hopeless own-goal and Carlisle and up with an outfield player in goal, long before sub goalies were allowed. At the time it was a much needed win because we were slipping much nearer mid-table than the top end of the league. New signing Peter Barnes gets injured seconds into the game. Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted May 20, 2019 Site Supporter Share Posted May 20, 2019 Fantastic commentary for the own goal!😀 Also nice to see a bit of football. Midfielders moving, full backs overlapping, crosses and goals.

paulhanley
The relegation season to Div 4 - 1986/7 - was pretty grim throughout, with the exception of a short run of results in late November/early December. During that run we beat York 3-1 at home thanks to a good goal by Asa Hartford and two poacher's goals by Tony Caldwell. Marco Gabbiadini - later to become infamous among Bolton fans for his crude challenge as a Derby player on Simon Coleman - wins and converts the York penalty. Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted May 23, 2019 Site Supporter Share Posted May 23, 2019 That challenge on Coleman remains probably the most evil challenge I've seen by a professional footballer.

Yeah I've got that too. All the trouble seems to be at half time between the Bolton fans and the Old Bill. And all the goals in the last 20-25 mins. Was a real nail in the coffin as York were struggling with us.
