gonzo
Today found out my beloved nightclub syndicate has shut its doors for the last time. Cant help but feel a bit gutted. spent my youth in there, every spine tingiling moment off my clubbing days were born in in that place. Swear its an act of god,i went on a night out there last weekend, totally unplanned, and all felt a bit emotional!! So where what club, hall, palais was your choice as an excited youth!? Globetrotter
Round town, then Bolton Palais. I have no idea how old you are my friend and I don't want to offend but I love the simplicity and lack of choice, blissful times eh ... I myself, graduating to boozing in the late 80's, lived thru the change from running the gauntlet on the last bus home to Bolton itself (herself?) having a dozen or so late night 'clubs' and then 24 HR boozing with Barristers being a current fave. On balance tho, most of mine like most others would be Ritzy - 'put your legs in the air like you don't care - woo woo' Feddy Merx will be with us soon for the Queen montage ... Burndens Bogs
Mt first club was Wigan Casino when i was 15. I'll never forget the buzz of excitement climbing the stairs as it opened at 2am, within minutes the place would have 2000 people in and the dancefloor would be packed. After an hour the high ceiling would start to drip with condensation and sweat, and it seemed to get hotter and hotter till it closed at 8am. During my 4 or 5 years as a regular i never saw one fight in there, and it was packed with lads and lasses from all over Britain. The atmoshere was just unbelieveable, for me no club has ever come anywhere near it since. Edited August 13, 2011 by Burndens Bogs
