This Weather.....

Cancelled a family bbq tonight due to ongoing coronavirus issues. Finished early so I could at least enjoy the sun in the garden for what could be the only day of summer. Sat here under grey sky’s with a glass of wine counting raindrops.

At least it’s warm.

How hot back home?

Around 24 here. Pleasant with a gentle breeze.

Sounds like they’ll have the pitchforks out soon enough to chase you back over the border. You timed it right to have already travelled north, at least.

There is that I suppose, however given the accents I've heard, there's a good number of us English here. If we all did one, they'd be skint as all the businesses would struggle.

Three cottages where I am; us in one, couple from Stockport in another, and a family from Derbyshire in the other.

In fairness, not been a hint of the pitchfork brigade.

Not sure whether they’d have cancelled your booking had you only been travelling up in the next few days, but the MEN article certainly intimated that way. The Derbyshire family would be fine though, of course 🙄

My daughter and grandkids travelled to Edinburgh today for 5 days (they go every year to friends), they absolutely love the place, she phoned me earlier t o say she arrived safely and everything looked 'as normal'

It’s far from normal up here mate. Making a decent fist of it but it’s heavily Covid compliant in and around the city and quite a few places are still to re-open tbf and @birch-chorley will be able to testify to that effect. Nonetheless she will have a great time

Aye, we went last weekend and it was brilliant

A bit quiet but that worked for us

Most bars and restaurants open and straightforward

@Escobarp gave us some brilliant recommendations, if anyone’s going give him a shout!

Her mates house is right on the beach so the kids and dog have a massive play area, they love it

I’m with you on that. Mrs wanted to drive to Wales last year for a week. the week before the weather forecast changed from sunny to overcast to raining to sunny to overcast, I said Bollocks to driving stuck in traffic with unknown weather. Went to south of France for 5 days in blissful sunshine.

Remember many north wales holidays as a kid, scarred me for life full week inside a caravan while bouncing down all week. Never again.
