gonzo
Lightening maps shows a bit of action north west of Blackpool. That won’t be heading over at it’s a north east wind. Warm stuff rolling off the pennies and it could go off. https://www.lightningmaps.org/?lang=en

Sounded like a geiger counter. That bit near you was the one from North Wales, plenty of action at one point. Seems like the Midlands has died down now. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.co.uk/news/amp/uk-wales-53726444 Edited August 10, 2020 by Tonge moor green jacket

Site Supporter MickyD Posted August 10, 2020 Site Supporter Share Posted August 10, 2020 Creeping up the Southport.coast and towards Fylde. Just sat outside with a brew but still not much thunder. In fact, not much visible lightening other than the opaque clouds letting a bit of light through. No actual forks of lightening yet.

It was over liverpool and the sea. Couldn't hear any of that one (maybe scousers nicked the sound), just the light show, which is more spectacular when it lights up behind clouds. In't milk brill! gonzo
Never known as much lightening but no thunder. Constant flashes directly above for ages then seemed to drift south. Followed by biblical rain. My gutter caved in, meaning water was pissing out down my window so couldn’t leave it open. Horrendous nights kip.
