leigh white
Had a brief spell of thunder and lightning in downtown East Leigh, lights dimmed a bit but no problems here.
Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted February 9, 2020 Site Supporter Share Posted February 9, 2020 Took a hound up for a mooch in Horwich, flash of lightning in the distance. Once back in the car, we checked on lightning maps, and it was somewhere near high street iirc. Plenty others in the hills.

Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted February 9, 2020 Site Supporter Share Posted February 9, 2020 Bad round Preston way. Roads closed all over earlier, and exits from m6 at j31 were closed an hour ago because of flooding. A colleague of the wife has lost 6 feet of his garden and 2 sheds to the stream at the end of it! MancWanderer
Fucking horrible on the motorways heading south. Huge puddles blocking lanes due to run off from the fields. And still you’ve got dickheads tanking it through the spray

The 4x4s formed a huge long train hogging the middle lane. I didn’t obvs cos I’m an ace driver. Site Supporter MickyD Posted February 9, 2020 Site Supporter Share Posted February 9, 2020 Anyone else notice that the lane to hog on four lane motorways is the yjird. It must be something to do with being comfortable with the safety of being able to jump into the "fast" lane and being far enough from the HGVs as possible. Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted February 10, 2020 Site Supporter Share Posted February 10, 2020 Statement by minister on flood response now. North of England definitely suffered the brunt of the effects. Keen on learning about measures going forward.
