Its back again now.

The local stream is already a gusher now, with re emergence of temporary miniature waterfalls off land into water courses.

40cm of snow predicted in parts of Scotland on Thursday.

Esco will be skiing to the shop.

Pleasant day here forecast for Thursday where I am. I wouldn’t mind some

snow to be fair although it will dampen my new found zest for exercise!

Think it's higher up than where you are in fairness.

Could test that new motor in a rally-esque speed trial. :)

I had a mishap in an Audi A5 when the beast from the east hit. If it snows I will be leaving the car parked where it is!

Always think back to when I was picking up my mate on the way to the match. Parked on the steep bit of Breightmet Drive. Snow/ice everywhere.

Got to the front door to be told the car was moving- slid away of its own accord and into a garden wall.

Lad was little and in the back in his child seat- me running (somehow) alongside trying to get in- but thump!

Always wary now.

Have you had it in your house before?

Yeah pal 3 years ago. Ankle deep in porch and came under floor.

Houses further up were completely written off, cars floating about etc

Paid £70 a month house insurance unitll recently.

Its threatened last couple of years but thankfully hasn't happened again.

Not had 48 hours solid rain like this since mind..

Was looking at some of the defences the shops in Hebden Bridge have installed on their doors. Similar things available on garden gates/walls.

Could you make use of something like them?

Yeah saw those, great idea.

Hopefully it wont come to it but I've got 20 or so sand bags Ive kept behind my shed ready for deployment.

Checked all grids outside yesterday and all seemed clear, that was a major factor last time.

Took the pooch towards wyre estuary earlier, the tributaries are full to bursting, including one that runs at back of my house in which all the street grids in the area run into.

Be reet 🙈

Once had a lab when we were young.

Took her out when it was like this. The local Brook runs through a tunnel under the disused railway line. It had swollen massively and was higher than the tunnel top, with loads of floating rubbish bobbing around on the surface.

Daft dog walked straight into the sea of plastic, clearly unaware of what was underneath. Fortunately managed to grab her before she was sucked through.

Proper shit me up that did.
