no balls
Sommat odd about this. It's someone she knows I reckon. Anyway, what's a five year old doing playing out in the dark in the first place? Half an hour after sunset. I see what you're saying, but still, I'm not sure it's the time and place for that yet. Also, doesn't it say there were other kids out too? It isn't right though. Sensible question, do young kids these days, or kids full stop get told modern versions of Charlie says or Tufty? I see very little kids tv but it doesn't appear half as infomative as in the 70s. I don't believe there are any more nutters out these days as the 100 years since I was a child, I think we get more wall to wall now, plus even in those halcyon days back then, dusk was the time you came home. You're right, nows not the time but as a parent you think 'its dark at half six and she's five'. She might have been playing opposite her house in a quiet culdesac with older siblings, dunno, its just a parents instinct I suppose. As for tales of The Bogeyman, kids do do things about strangers at school and I'm sure any parent with a brain in their head drums it into them too. Just hope she's found safe and sound. Happy Wanderer
Have they found her then. No reports yet. As a parent I feel so sick and and angry at people who can do this to young children.

Site Supporter MickyD Posted October 2, 2012 Site Supporter Share Posted October 2, 2012 If they arrested him and didn't find her, I fear the worst. I hope to fuck I'm wrong or that it's actually an estranged family issue rather than a sexual predator.

Youri McAnespie
I don't believe there are any more nutters out these days as the 100 years since I was a child, I think we get more wall to wall now, plus even in those halcyon days back then, dusk was the time you came home. I believe that too, I do believe however, that these days it's easier for those not wired up right to 'find' like-minded individuals. In years gone by these creatures may have suppressed these urges until the grave. I'd venture these days they're more likely to act on them, because of; increased levels of communication, validation (from other paedophiles) and promotion (via child pornography and the greater access to). freds dad
Police have named the man arrested as Mark Bridger. He used to live locally and worked as a life guard at the local baths. I'm getting the word .......
no balls
I hope they've got the right bloke. Remember that girl in Bristol. Is it wise to be naming anyone arrested so soon or is it a legal obligation?

I'm just interested why the police name when they've arrested but before they charge.
MalcolmW
Yes, but until charged formally. I'm just interested why the police name when they've arrested but before they charge. "Named locally" is not named by the police, who are still referring to "a 46 year-old man". It means that's what the neighbours are saying.
