My better half has been dropping hints about having a kindle type device so she can read her books when we are away on holiday.

She doesn't want an iPad as I have one and she thinks I'm a wanker!

So the good people of WW what model make etc shall I buy her for Christmas?

was thinking as much

i never could see the attraction

theyre great

wouldn't bother with the new model, but to be fair, if i had a go on one, i'd probably want one

i think the new one has a built in light - if thats a backlight, it'll be brilliant

I just download books from the library onto my pc then transfer to my mobile. Aldiko lets you make all sorts of changes to the text so reading them is no problem on a small screen. Also does most things Kindle can so I didn't see the point of buying a separate reader. Got my wife a Samsung Tab - she loves it.

Just don't put too many books onto it or it'll be really heavy.

The entire internet is stored and delivered using 540 billion trillion electrons. Which all together weigh around 50 grams which is approx. the weight of 1 strawberry.

You can have that fact for free, kids.

Those 50 grams over your baggage allowance =£46 from Ryanair.

Nonsense. A paperback usually weighs anywhere between 9oz and 1lb. if they're put onto a kindle then that's going to make it considerably heavier.
