They were both exhausted & running on fumes. Yarde had him going in the 8th round, McGirt threatened to stop the fight in the next round if Kovalev didn’t offer something back. In the end Yarde was gassed & had nothing left, a brave effort though. Kovalev could fight Canelo next. He’ll get stopped to the body & retire after that as he's a spent force.
