And what's this tinpot Europa League 2 all about? Why scrap The Cup Winners Cup only to introduce this down the line? Should've retained it and just gone down the line of the cups' losing sides to find entrants (if cup winners/finalists were already Champions Leagued or Europa-ed up...) Scrap the Johnstons Paints Trophy and have a European tournament for all the fallen now plying their trade in the pub leagues where they can't even get matches on. Did you know the heiress to Johnston's Paints lived in that big house next to Walkers/Southfields. She was an eccentric miser who dressed in ragged clothes. We used to have kickabouts on the pub car park and 'accidentally' boot the ball over to go and ask for it back. She had one of those old-fashioned Addams Family style 'pull' doorbells.
