Gonk
Any other fellow Android TV wankers having problems with Sports Devil these days? It's pretty much a waste of time for me now. Who is your broadband supplier? If it is Virgin Media, log ito your myvirginmedia, go to my apps and turn off virus safe. It's a newish feature and turned on by default. It blocks some of the sites Edited September 30, 2014 by Gonk
DazBob
TalkTalk. They are absolute shite, but tbf, they don't block stuff in the way Virgin do.

Joining this thread twelve months late! This all sounds top for sport, and I really don't mind the fiddly side of things with updating software etc. However, t'other half likes to just glance at program guides and generally flick through channels. Is this the type of thing easy to do with Android boxes? Or do you really need to know exactly what you're looking for? This would just be a sport watching device for me, but if she finds it's too much of a fuss to flick through channels I risk being bludgeoned to death with the remote. I think it's safe to say it's not for her then. Balls to her though, buy it for yourself. It's a one-off purchase for £70 or so. Treat yourself. Traf
The M8's are the best out there, but don't pay that price on that link FFS.
Moderators Carlos Posted October 22, 2014 Moderators Share Posted October 22, 2014 Aye, the software - XBMC and configurations are free. Don't pay for them. You can run it on an old PC or a £35 Raspberry Pi, an old apple TV etc. It doesn't need to be on a stick, although I can see the benefit of that. DazBob
Where is better priced?? Try Amazon. That's where I got mine. CWP and Traf too I think. Don't pay more than £80.
Traf
Amazon or ebay
DazBob
I looked into both, but the price difference was negligible, so opted for Amazon purely down to ease of returns/refunds if it went to shit.

I know what you're saying, brother, but... most of the sellers on Amazon have eBay shops, so it's the same sellers selling cheaper, as EBay's fees are lower than Amazon and Amazon's returns department are nowhere near as shit hot as you'd expect. They employ all sorts in their warehouses nowadays.
