Yes thats what I thought but I've seen the latest ones, granted at big houses, and it looks a lot better nowadays. Seen a lot of sinking blocks as well mind over the years. Elson
Had mine done Imprinted last year and it looks really good and very happy with it, Did look at Block driveways but on the estate you can see loads that have sunk having cars parked in same place over the last the years. But its I agree about being slippy it caught me out when it pissed down one night and nearly end up on my ass.

Not putting a proper bedding underneath. Some fuckers sprinkle sand and rake it so it looks flat.

Smiley
After asking the WW collective last year about this block/imprinted/Tarmac/gravel. We're going down the Tarmac with frilly block paved trim around it, etc. Seen quite a few imprinted drives that look shiny & slippy and generally a bit tacky. And 100s of block paved with sunk bricks & weeds growing out of them.

All about the foundation I reckon and that's where a lot of the effort is required / can be short-cut I did a section of my garden and my father in law made me 'do it properly' So I dug out 6 inches (3 tonnes) of soil by hand, dropped in a layer of smashed up (by hand) rubble, then sand, whacker plated it level, put on a layer of concrete, then laid the slabs and grouted them methodically so as not to stain the edges with wet cement Was an absolute mission but 3 years have passed and not a hint of a weed or a sinking flag, quick pressure wash each year and it looks brand new

If the surface is non-permeable and the area is over 5 sqm then you'll need PP.
Site Supporter Spider Posted April 15, 2014 Site Supporter Share Posted April 15, 2014 If you sellotape Rice Krispies to your tyres, your neighbours will think you've had an expensive gravel drive put in.
